It’s the wonders from West Coast who lead the way after the first bye week as they made light work of fellow finals contenders Cellar Dwellars. The knights lost top spot on the table for the second time in a month after they were upset by Hampstead Hawks who aren’t even in the eight. Biker Babes, Fine Wines and especially Strongys said thank you very much for the rabbits as they hopped into the top four with the knights suddenly not at the round table. Giants Legends were the star team of the round as they had a solid victory over the unlucky Jellyz who scored over 1900 and still couldn’t get their fifth win of the season. A special heads up to top eight Ginger Ninjas who had a massive fail scoring little more than the three robot teams in the comp. Nice work ginge.

A couple of finals contenders suffered a bye-week loss in Round 13, a week where the top three sides all managed to collect a victory. Fine Wines lost the top four clash against Biker Babes with neither side at their best this week. The knights suffered their second loss in a row to a side outside of the top eight when they got upset by stragglers The Jellyz. The Ginger Ninjas hit back strongly after some recent stinky form when they topped the league scorer to do a number on battling Tuohys. The biggest percentage builder in Hogg history happened last weekend when Hampstead Hawks won by 1406 points playing Port Plop when the Power had their bye. Unlike the real Hawks, that percentage is a leg up in the run home for them. Top side West Coast Wonders also managed a massive win over Strawb’s Wingyroyals.

A couple of massive wins this week as several teams took advantage of some weak bye round line-ups. The Jellyz were the scoring stars of the week as they topped the league and kept their finals hopes alive with a 680 point win over the Plop. Fourth ranked Cellar Dwellars had the biggest win as they flogged the Royals by over 1000 points in a percentage bonanza for the Cellars. Hampstead Hawks flew into the top eight with yet another percentage boosting win and they look good for the finals now as they will need one win less than other midtable contenders as their percentage is a very healthy 117.38. You don’t see percentage that high this late in the season in SuperCoach. West Coast and Strongys still the lead the way with Strongy not that convincing over the Allstars. The knights are starting to look wobbly as they crashed to another Bye round defeat and it wasn’t a great vintage for Fine Wines and Biker Babes crashed to the Hawks so plenty of top eight sides got a bit of a wobble on last week.

Strongy D’s are our new ladder leaders in Divvy V after The knights returned to form to put former leaders West Coast Wonders to the sword. The match of the round was a solid win to The Ginger Ninjas who chopped up Percentage United aka Hampstead Hawks in a high scoring encounter. The Hawks dropped out of the eight after Giants Legends defeated an out of form Cellar Dwellers. Fine Wines and Biker Babes got back onto the winners list while SKZ continue to stalk the top eight. It’s hard to see the bottom eight challenging for the finals this year but Touhy’s New Lager did manage to secure a rare win on the weekend at least.

Biker Babes are looking pretty tough right now in Division V after they cleaned up top four rivals West Coast Wonders in a high standard clash last weekend. Strongy went from strength to strength stay ahead of the babes with the knights back in town after SKZ upset The Ginger Ninjas. Fine Wines looks ready for the drop with Hampstead, SKZ and the Beasts looming just the one game back. The Jellyz put in their entrant for the all too late she cried competition by topping the league with a majestic 2378 but their season ended weeks ago.

The Knights are back in town after a bit of a power nap as they topped the league for the weekend when they cleaned up fellow premiership contenders Giants Legends. The Ginger Ninjas also scored powerfully as they were far too good for top four West Coast Wonders who look a bit short of the best teams in this league. Quite a few of the top eight sides suffered defeat on the weekend which made wins by Biker Babes and Strongy worth their weight in gold. Benno has emerged as the best team out of the top eight after Hampstead and SKZ got rolled. The Jellyz roll has come too late and Liam will be watching on next month. Wingyroyals have secured the spoon after they copped their second loss to Port Plop this season.

Bikers Babes are the new ladder leaders after they smashed the worst team in the Hogg after Strongy D’s were upset by non-finalist The Jellyz in Round 19. The finals are all but settled here with eleven wins the minimum which rules out the bottom eight sides. Fine Wines is unbackable favourite against the Allstars while Benno has a tricky closing assignment against Jellyz who are scoring well in recent weeks but left their run too late. If SKZ can beat Strongy then she would get into the top eight at the expense of Benno but I think Strongy will save Benno’s Bacon (possible new team name?) even if the Jellyz are solid. Looking to the finals I think Biker Babes, The knights and from outside the top four Ginger Ninjas look a decent bet to be promoted. Reckon Strongy should get it done with the double chance which would leave West Coast and Giants Legends the unlucky teams to stay in the lowest division next season.

The minor round is done and dusted and few teams would be pretty salty with how it ended. The Jellyz were stragglers all season long but came home with an absolute wet sail to be an utter pest for those teams above them and they finished off in fine style booting Benno’s Beasts out of the premiership race. Jellyz is salty as they finished fourth in scoring but missed the eight while poor old Benno all but got the job done but has to watch Cellar Dwellars run about in the finals. You can’t get too much wrong in Divvy V as there aren’t many upsets from the bottom group to help you out. Strongy D’s finished minor premier when Biker Babes were smashed back to the stoneage by Giants Legends who somehow missed the double chance to teams like Strongy’s and West Coast Wonders.

Looking to the finals I’m liking Strongy’s to win his promotion to Division IV by defeating the Wonders. The other automatic promotion match is a much tougher affair as the Bikers now have to play The Knights who have been charging of late. I’m liking the Knights to get the job done next week. First out will be last in Cellar Dwellars who won’t cope with the Ninjas and I reckon Fine Wines will go down to mighty Giants Legends which will set up some cracking Semis next week.

West Coast Wonders and Biker Babes have secured promotion to Hogg Division IV after they won their qualifiers in the first week of the finals. The Wonders made mincemeat of a disappointing minor premier Strongy while the Biker chicks were most impressive racking up a very good score to defeat the knights. The Ginger Ninjas and Giants Legends surprised nobody as the got up as expected against Cellar Dwellers and Fine Wines respectively with Fine Wines more like sour grapes with a limp performance in their knockout final. The winners of the semi finals will be promoted to Division IV and I think the Ninjas will be to strong for Dylan but the other match is much tougher to predict. The knights have been more consistent over the course of the season so I’m selecting them to join Ginge in Division IV next season.

Many a minor premier in SuperCoach burns all their tickets just getting there and then they bomb out. Strongy D’s joined that lengthy list as they went out in straight sets to the mighty Ginger Ninjas who racked a score good enough to succeed in a much higher league. The knights have been a good side for the majority of this season and they deserved to advance at the expense of Giants Legends who were not at their best in this match. This means that Ginger Ninjas and the knights are both promoted to Division IV next season. In the Prelims this week the knights should be far too strong for West Coast Wonders while Ginger Ninjas should be able to hang on and knock out Bikers Best in what will be the closer of the two Prelims.

It’s Biker Babes vs. West Coast Wonders in this year’s Division V Grand Final after the Bikers thrashed Ginge by 100 in a fine performance and the Wonders upset favourites The Knights by 9 points in the close one. It’s been a solid debut season in the Hogg for The knights but it will be tougher going in Divvy IV so it’s an opportunity missed for sure. For The Ginger Ninjas, it’s hard to work out how it took them two seasons to be promoted but he got the job done at the second time of asking. Once again I’m tipping against West Coast Wonders in the Grand Final as they don’t appear to have the scoring power of Biker Babes. Last week’s carnage helped the Wonders get by but it needs a new round of carnage to bring Bikers back to the field. Surely the SuperCoach gods don’t smile that much on anyone.

Biker Babes Best by 236 points.
