Feel your pain Jim.
Unfortunately, private health insurance is becoming a bit of a lottery, heavily reliant on whatever agreements your insurer has with providers, which can change from year to year.
I just changed my dentist as the new provider has no gap with my health insurer for most procedures.
A couple of years ago I was about to pull the trigger on bunion surgery on one foot, but didn’t go ahead as the gap would have been $2,500. Literally months before that, my daughter had bunion surgery on both feet with the same surgeon and health insurance, and the gap was only $400. It was all down to the insurer/provider agreement changing in the meantime.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.
