Simpson beat him for the WCE job in 2013. :lol:

Assistant at Collingwood from 2014-2017 ( No finals and Buckley got sacked )
Assistant at Hawthorn 2018-2019
Assistant at Adelaide since 2020

His resume hasn't exactly got stronger over time and about to turn 50, not really in the mold of the modern AFL world for new first time coaching appointments.
