My daughter hurt her ankle badly 4 years ago, and never been right since - not so much pain, but not stable.
We took the MRI results to the ortho surgeon today, he grabbed her ankle and pulled it back and forth and he gave out an audible gasp as it moved so far...guessing that's not good news.
He recommended the surgery, but interested if anyone has had it and what it was like for recovery/back to normal after etc.

Yep. ATFL reconstruction 10 years ago last March. 45 minute surgery, crutches or a week and moon boot for 6 weeks. Sitting toilet was a challenge but you worked out what worked for you.

Recovery was good except my calf didn't recover as good as the ankle. Took me a good 10 weeks to be able to hit the continuous raises before being cleared to run. Returned to the cricket field in time for the following season opening the bowling.

Would say 95% functionality has returned which is excellent and I don't notice it unless I cop a knock or light roll. Strapped it with tape or lace up brace ever since for sports and haven't played any court sports either. I'd stopped playing footy before that too.

Geezus, was it that long ago

Who's the surgeon, MW?

Are there any cabinet makers on here? Our built in microwave has died and we would like some kitchen cabinetry altered to fit a larger one. North east suburbs. Pay cash and all you can drink when finished.

Does anyone else get indigestion much? I'm a pretty healthy eater and I don't really drink a lot anymore but I seem to get indigestion most days, is it age related?

If I eat white bread or any pastry I have 40 minutes to eat a Gaviscon. I never touch* cucumber, that's the worst.

Anything you've noticed doing it?

Couple the above with lactose intolerance and I closely watch what I eat.

Mainly if I eat spicy food, which is almost every night, but it doesn't happen every night
I also drink soda water during the night which probably doesn't help

I take Esomeprazole but Mrs Jimmy is telling me its not good for me

Certainly happens more now than when younger

20 mg of Somac every morning, haven’t had indigestion for years. And I eat a lot of shit, spicy foods & drink too much grog.

There is no consistent links, I'm going to start writing down everything I eat and what time then monitor the degree of indigestion that I get.

I'm actually thinking that Coke might be a contributing factor, I have been drinking more of it again opposed to just my Kirks Sugar Free cans, I notice if I eat a pie it smashes me.

It will be interesting, I thought it was from using tonic in my gin but I've found alternatives.

Caffeine is a common cause

I've found frozen pizza and cheap pies/pasties sets it off for me, hunched over thinking about death level pain.

You can buy it over the counter but it’s a shitload cheaper with a script - and asking for the generic brand.

Does make sense.

Went out last night, had fish and calamari along with probably half a dozen pints and no issue this morning, probz could've done with finishing up a little earlier though.

Quite impressed with the Grove Tavern, walking distance from the GF's and has an excellent set up for a Saturday on the punt, could well be my new local.

......what did the bloke at Port Adelaide Railway Station have in his pockets for the police sniffer dogs to find on him? Currently receiving a dinosaur sticker on his hand for his efforts.

About 8 transit police, 4 coppers and a sniffer dog greeting unsuspecting punters at the bottom of the ramps.
