Definitely could have been 700, apparently in the paper it said 990 (probably inflated). Regardless, it doesn't really support Keith Thomas's old arguement that the SANFL needs the Power reserves as they bring the crowds.

We had the more supporters there apart from the 10 power reserves supporters behind the goals they had stuff all there .

That was one of the smallest crowds I’ve ever at a SANFL game, and one of the weirdest build ups with no reserves game with the Dogs Ressies down at the Bay.

990 is a generous count IMO - 750 would be more accurate.

The flat atmosphere matched the pretty flat tempo of the game. Centrals got the job done, but only after switching up a gear in the third quarter - and this is a common theme for Centrals when playing opponents lower than them on the ladder. Except of South before the bye and the Crows in round 2, they haven’t really blown any teams off the park (and even in these two games, they were slow out of the blocks).

This will ultimately cost them come finals time (and as we’ve seen when they’ve played the top 3 this season).
