That is why the system needs to change, being able to use 15 4th round picks to pick up a player that would have gone top 10, let alone potentially 2 in this situation, is wrong. If a player is bid on then the club should have to use at least 1 pick in the round they were bid on to get them and once they are past their first pick then all bets should be off. Personally I think they should do away with academy picks and Father Son, both undermine the whole purpose of the draft in the first place.

I do agree they should have more than a couple of months warning though but when have the AFL ever made a well balanced intelligent decision this century.

Points of the same value plus a pick from that round, 100% great system.

You want to match pick 1 then you give up the points that = that + a 1st round pick. Good idea mate.
PAFC. Forever.

I think that's the issue, most would agree the system is very debatable and could do with some change, but 2 months is absolutely crazy.

On the other side of the coin is Richmond who have loaded up on 2nd 3rd and 4th rounders so they are in a position to trade these picks to the Carltons and Suns of the world who are wanting to get rid of their 1st round picks. Richmond could fast track their rebuild with getting 3 or 4 1st round picks. Its smart trading by them. If that was to change now they are left with a heap of dud picks and no chance to rebuild before Tasmania come in.
To change this on them is more unfair than changing it on Carlton and the Suns.
Bringing it in for next years draft is fair

That's what Voss was saying.
You plan 2 years out to manipulate your list so that you can get your target player.
Afl house would know this is the case so they'll surely give 2 years grace.

Consistent with the Hogan one earlier, but Hogan should've got one as this penalty should've been.

I go back to big Super getting games for attempting to strike.
And no Norwood supporters I haven't got over it.

The AFL can thank Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon for the crowds!
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

So what are the answers to the umpiring?

They still aren't full time?

There's too many field umpires.

Umpires coach? They're talking about why Collingwood are so good at winning the close ones instead of learning about how to be a consistent team that interprets the rules the same.
Learning how to officiate without bias or guessing decisions.
Learning how to park your ego and hopefully be relatively invisible.

It's got me buggered how we survived with one umpire back in the day.

It just shows that majority of sports fans just simply love a winner no matter how much a club markets, creates game day experience etc etc.

The AFL product for most people over the age of 25 has never been worse, yet whilst Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon are sitting in the top 8 crowd figures will soar.

Wow Sam Taylor has a ruptured testicle and out indefinitely.
Having been hit in the nurries a few times I can not imagine how much pain a ruptured bollock would be.
Poor bastard.
