Not that it will change the result because Glenelg will be way to good but one of their key forwards may not be playing tomorrow .

Dogs kicked the last 4 scores of the game, all behinds and lose by 7 points. Were they kickable or all hard shots?

All in play, all under pressure. 50/50 at best for most. All went the wrong way for the dogs.

I thought we played quiet well, better than I expected. From memory The Bays got two goals from holding the ball, one from an out on the full, one from a smothered handball and a couple from poor attempted switches across the ground. Just need to eliminate a couple of these errors. The bays a touch better. Harvey Howe did okay in the centre.

The game was there for the taking. Glenelg aren't the threat of last year and we matched them in terms of structure and personnel.
Turnovers through skill errors killed us, including Dudley (2nd quarter) and Presbury (last) who are usually elite ball users.

Our defence was outstanding. Jezza bounced back from his disappointment on missing the draft, along with Iles and Monty (great last quarter) and Kendall took some great marks also. Little was very good in keeping McBean out of the equation.
Gasper kicked 4.4 and looked dangerous.

The result coulda gone either way and it would've been just. Central was excellent in pressure on the contests and endeavour in general. Glenelg sloppy in disposal; I don’t reckon any of the Bays improved on their game from last week.

Aiden Grace is a dead ringer for Feargal Sharkey.

Bell was better this week. :D

Not a bad effort by the Bays to be 6-2 with no ruckman all season and a few other injuries; could have iced the game earlier but credit to Central for pushing to the very end.

It’s nice to be the hunted

Dogs came with a plan to make use our hands rather than our feet much like Sturt and Norwood did. And tag Allan out of the game.

Up to time on of the 3rd qtr we had had 127 kicks and 105 handballs. We’re a 2:1 kick:handball side when we’re going

We weathered the storm and when it mattered we applied the pressure and got the job done.

It wasn’t pretty but we got the “W”.

Roll on to next when we can beat our SANFL COCKS

Kudos to Centrals for a good game of footy
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

ok i am biased, but to say we arent the threat of last year maybe a bit premature, we have plenty of improvement in us imho, flags arent won in the first half of the season, believe me i know this from painful experience going back to the late 60s

A good contest that I enjoyed all day, Dogs successfully kept pressure up to stop Glenelg playing their natural game, and they rarely achieved their usual flow. Dogs still making too many skill errors for turnovers, but not far off and a big improvement on recent weeks.

Was wondering ... that last touch out of bounds rule, I thought when a player from the same team was chasing the ball and was sheperded or prevented from reaching it by their opponent, that it was supposed to be a throw-in. Is that not still a carve out of that rule? We got 2 last touch free kicks against us in exactly these circumstances on Saturday.

Just wondering if the umpires know what a dangerous tackle is , Matt Allen gets free for holding the ball and yet on SANFL website he gets a reprimand for the tackle.

Was good to see our 18s salute over the weekend against the 2nd ranked side by nine goals.

With College and state commitments was expecting a losses over the next few weeks before the mid season break.

We'll take that.

Pity the 16s lost.
