The Butchered Boys on CI

Postby Leaping Lindner » Fri Oct 26, 2007 10:12 am

Did anyone else see "The Butchered Boys" on the CI channel last night?
Fairly interesting but ultimately nothing most of us already didn't know. Does raise that age old question again though. Why is Bevan Spencer Von Einem still the only person charged with any of these offences?

Largely because nothing has happened to put the fire out MP.

Why believe something else when half the state tells you something in a whisper? If it's whispered, it must be true...

You mean there's a vicious rumour mill in Adelaide?

Rumour and innuendo - sensational and unfounded - is as much part of this sad story as the actual murders...

I heard a rumour that there was a rumour mill, so I told a few people about it...

Rex Levrington mentioned that, and what a load of rubbish it was.

Fairly interesting but ultimately nothing most of us already didn't know.

Finally saw it and thought it was pretty disappointing. Some pretty basic factual errors, too.

The only revelation came from Peter Stogneff's father who still doesn't believe the skeletal remains found are his son.

Sad to see how the years have taken their toll on Judy Barnes and David Langley, both obviously shattered...

The Stogneff's believing the skeleton wasn't Peters was pretty heartbreaking. I would think that in this day and age a DNA test would prove beyond doubt. Maybe they don't want to know. Very sad.
