Solicitors who hold wills for clients generally keep a list so they can quickly find out whether they have a particular will or not - but if you don't know who the solicitor was then I'm not sure what you'd do.
Public Trustees may be able to help. not sure about SA but i know some States all wills are recorded on a data base, NSW even have a specific form you can lodge
Perhaps give the Public Trustees a call and see what they can suggest or if they can help
