You have got to be kidding. Possibly a shade better than Deitz, but Deitz's batting should see him clear for SA, but Haddin, Ronchi, Hartley, and a gentleman named Gilchrist might think different.

Gilchrist is not a great gloveman and he would be the first to admit that. He's worked very hard on it though and has improved dramatically since he started but there are still several blokes in Australia who are better glovemen. Overall cricketer and value to a side Gilchrist wins hands down though.

I know.
I was just trying to point out that 'Manou is the best keeper in Australia' is a very ridiculous comment.

Seen Deitz bat this year he is probably in the top three bastman in the state.
Glovework is also of a very high standard. Politics is running the show at the SACA. Manou
borders on embarssing sometimes yet they persist with him. Tragically his name is on the board as a state captain. Explain that.

Certainly after last season (in regards to batting). If, for whatever reason, they chose to play Manou ahead of Deitz as keeper, then it shouldn't be too hard to squeeze Deitz in as a specialist batsman. 8)
