Why did they leave? A huge loss for Plympton, a massive gain for the roadies, a top four placing
might be on the cards for south road

South Road were already going to make the top 4 i reckon now they will be likely to finish top 2. Looks like a really good side.

Big call to say South Road were set for top 4 after coming up from section 2. Massive difference. I think there are 6 sides in section 1 that look a realistic chance to make top 4 (very early call mind you) - Western Youth, ICC Sharks, Keswick, North Haven, South Road and Coro Ramblers. Western Youth always the toughest to beat for me.

Booney, you stole my thunder, Young Quirky, only 20 years old, opened the innings and made 276 not out, a club record and, correct me if im wrong but i think it is a association record, the old one being 274 by Kuhar from westminster

276 you are joking me. Is he just a good young player a slapper or a gun playing below where he should be? Any section 1 scores.

My brother's team were on the end of that pasting. He reckons they had him out caught behind on about 40 and his old man was umpiring at the time and gave him not out. Also helps when several bowlers did nothing but drop short to him all day and if anyone knows what Blackwood High School's oval is like, the boundaries square of the wicket aren't all that big, even smaller now since the recreation centre was built then and encroached onto the oval.

Also apparently he played in Turf Cricket last season and in a reasonably high grade. Can anyone shed any light on that??

of course the bowling will be short, thats why its D grade mate. People are going to bowl short and stuff. Thats prob why he wants to play with his dad also, He wont get given out! if he makes over 50 this week or the next he should be kicked out im serious. DISGRACE NHCC!!!!

Can't see what the lad would get out of it, he is obviously way to good for such a low grade, he could get nothing apart from a huge ego boost out of that sort of thing. Won't do his cricket any good in the long run, when he eventually goes back up and plays against quality bowlers he will find he will struggle. I agree another big score and seeya later

Settle down, lads,I dont have time to go through and delete/edit any of these posts. There really is no need to abuse either the club or player, what they choose to do is up to them.

Marvel at the score, whether you agree with him playing there or not. After 10 years of Section 1 or 3 cricket, any time I have played in the lower grades I have struggled to score, let alone get 270 odd.Any of you blokes done it?(Get 270)

Dundee, i will say it again, he wants to play with his old man, then he will go up next year, how many of us get to do that. I want to keep playing till my lads old enough. Mate the guys 20 years old, he not a glory hunter, had a beer back at the club and then his parents took him home. I think you have some issues with NHCC, you werent playing in that game last week were you? Probably not, your probably worried about facing him in section 6.

Plenty of good players play the odd game down the grades and don't make a run. I know Steven Ford from our club who is a very good player played a section 7 game a couple of years ago and got a first ball duck. You would like to see him play up the grades now though. Playing down there isn't doing anything for his game and will only hurt the section 5 competition.

What would get my goat up is his old man not giving him out. You know as well as I do Booney that this sort of thing destroys the game. I don't have to name 'that club' that doesn't give their mates out all season, then promptly falls over year after year once the umpires start standing in the finals.

270 is brilliant, but you've got to feel for us regular D graders who might take all year or even two to make that many runs. As someone who wasn't all that good I can understand several poster's frustrations on this one and nothing slanderous has been posted......yet.

Yhea thats its bazza shaking at the prospect mate!! And i never personally attacked the guy either Booney so settle down... There is a reason why you have sections 1-7 boys, and that is to try and have a level playing field and so not to have huge 1 sided games. Yep no doubt it must have been some sort of knock no doubt about it. But surely you cannot let a guy stay in section 6 if he continues to make big scores no matter if his whole family in the side..
Our d grade is the 4th best side at our club and if they know like any grade you do well you move up visa/versa. These blokes train 2 nights a week and try there guts out and if some A grader enjoys the challange of smashing runs against them well good luck to him...
i 100% stand by what i say if he plays d grade next game its a joke!!

Dude its his first game for the club, would there be an issue if he made a duck? I think not!
And that thing about his old man giving him not out, Section 1 umpires get it wrong all the time, what your saying is that he is a cheat. I have known him since i was fifteen and he wouldnt ever do that, if anything he would be harder on his boys.
