Grundy wanted to stay but his management didn't want him to take a pay cut....for obvious reasons.

And rightly so but how much is a premiership medal worth?

He moved to Melbourne so not exactly a downgrade from premiership contention.

Scott won't let Esava go. Still scratching my head on that one. Not sure why our coach is so keen on the big fella. Plays the odd good game but comes up with Sam Frost level clangers on a regular basis.

Because it would've eased our salary cap issues and he wanted to be a one club player.
It's money driven and I hate it.

Superficially yes. But Scott has proven with selection that he is super keen to have him in the side. It's more than just driving a hard bargain to pump up the value.

Not surprised. The club has been fibbing about the extent of Draper’s injury and Goldy will end up playing the majority of the season. With Draper sidelined we really only have Bryan (who I do think will be very good) and he is too young and inexperienced to do the job on his own. Goldy will no doubt get a 1 or 2 year playing contract and then some sort of development role at the club

Bit of a rumour Melbourne will make a big play for Harry McKay. Its just what they need, another inaccurate forward :D

It does make sense though, they are making room for someone this trade period. They have the draft capital to get it done.
What do Carlton fans think of this? Is he expendable for 2 1st round picks?
