Even checked my bank account and email receipts in case I bought it when drunk but nothing.
Nice book but....
Mystery solved.
My daughter ordered it for me for Fathers Day but there was no note/card as it came direct from the publisher.

What places i should check out, what pub should I have a beer in etc. I’m going with 2 mates so more focused on a boys trip type of things. Go the Power!

I used to go up there regularly and love the place, used to stay just out of the CBD or in the CBD.
If you're in the CBD I like the Pig and Whistle down on the river, if you're just out then definitely go to the Breakfast Creek Hotel for a steak and beer.
Most of the pubs in the CBD were pretty ordinary last time I was there but it was an Australia Day holiday.
I actually prefer it around Fortitude Valley, don't be scared to go there, its not as bad as it was, much better than Hindley St.
The Valley is a 10 min taxi out of the CBD.
I've never been to the GABBA, only Suncorp so others can give you the lowdown on pubs around there.
Enjoy!

True story
1997 Cox Plate boys trip
On the drink at the track since 11am, then on the town. One by one the group of 10 make their way back to the hotel in the early hours and I’m last man standing. Roughly 3am, I start making my way to the hotel & I spot a bar still open. Wander in & order a pot, “No tap beer, honey” he said. “Crown Lager then thanks”. Bar man comes back with a champagne glass with bubbles & a green tinge. “I know I’ve been on the sauce all day but that’s not a Crownie”.
Barman says “No it’s not, it’s a Midori & Champagne he bought it for you”, then points to a bloke at the end of the bar smiling at me. “You don’t know what sort of bar this is, do you?” I replied “I’ve got a fair idea now!” Barman said “You’ll be ok now”
I had another.

They have a Bundaberg rum/Country music themed day going on. Coming from the country myself and rum is a fav of my it’s almost a lure to go there.
