World Cup 2022

The World Game

Australia get the job done 2-0. Was not looking good early as Denmark were all over us. Did not play great but fairly convincing in the end. Got little bit of game time into Sam Kerr at the end also which was a bonus. Onto France or Morocco in the Quarter Finals now, think making the Semis when you host the World Cup would be the expectation.

Dangerous playing Miranda for 8 minutes. Rest the leg for another night

If Australia go on to play in a Soccer World Cup final it would have to go down as the greatest ever sporting achievement we’ve ever had let alone if we win the thing…..

What a match.
Just a casual observer and even I got nervous towards the end of normal time when French started attacking.
Then the penalty shoot-out...

I still hate penalty shootouts, but I like this - SEN box (and probably all other boxes) going off as well:

Be an outcry if the Matildas lose as was just announced on the radio that Channel 7 don't have the rights to the 3v4 playoff, only Optus do.
I'm lucky, my son just reactivated my Optus account as he has a lot more interest in the EPL than I do.

Yeah, they went to sleep, but credit to the England girl for taking her chance so clinically. England a lot more aggressive than us, so we need a big lift. Midfield needs to lift and provide Foord and Kerr with some opportunities.

Yep, we lack an enforcer (which imho all good sides need), creativity, and runners in the box. Hard to see bud getting back into it
