We just don't need it. Fullstop, end of story. So it'll happen because the AFL thunk it up (via the NBA).

Off course it is.

Pretty much every idea the AFL has is from the american sports set up.

Will happen one day.....extra final = larger tv viewers over the season = increased tv deal.

100% and the AFLPA will be able to draw a portion of that for the players as well.

The Play off weekend is rubbish.
Therefore it will happen next year

I don't mind it for two reasons:
1. it gets rid of the full bye and no footy. Allows the top 6 to have that week off so we don't get final round resting of players.
2. even's up the unfairness of the fixture a little. This season is a prime example of percentage being the difference between a finals spot and not. All depends who you get to play twice.

So let all the teams outside the 8 play in that case. Makes zero sense to me.

Why have a finals series? Just reward the top team like in most soccer leagues.
Wild card means 6 teams automatically qualify, 8 automatically miss out, 4 others fight for 2 spots. Gives us an extra week of footy with no bye round

Surely all teams should play finals in a best of 3/5/7 game format with timeouts, free kicks from the stripe and a bench that is bigger than the number of players on the court sorry oval.

Carlton v Collingwood Friday night at the G.
What’s the seasons record for crowd attendance?
Massive crowd this Friday night and big test for Carlton.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I don't think we'll win by that much.
