Jono - Weiderman has not signed, and I cant see him playing for Cove next year. He just needs something diffrent. Goodwin from Pt Lincoln will try out for Sturt and if he does not play Leauge of res. will play at cove. i've heard Calhoun is of to CLG. Are the Reavill's going back to the bay? I thought Vick had already signed in the RMFL?

WHy would Weiderman go to a Div 6 club? If he is a Association player, surely he would go to a div 1 or Div 2 club...

Boys Weidermann will be at Cove, Reavills will be at Cove one of their dads has taken on Football Director roll the other looks like becoming an assistant coach.... Goodwin will be at Cove as well and they will again be around the mark. None will leave they need 2 more big guys and I think they will improve again next year!!! No doubt CLG would be sniffing but there no chance...Rumours are always flying around this time of year.... Cove will be good again and if they can land the 2 blokes they are chasing massive improvement is expected..

Morphett Vale picking more players up I hear. Is this true Mexican? I understand some players who played elsewhere last season and some coming back from overseas are on their way back to Emu Park.

I hope Vick and the rest do stay at Cove, we need good players coming in to the league not loosing them....
Watch out for Jervois splashing around the dollars - Mahoney knows that the SFL is junior orientated and not a big money type league and cant wait for all you guys to develop good players so he can flash the big bucks and try and lure them up the Murray - keep an eye out for him sniffing around.......

Aaron Hill & Wayne Pittman should be back from season long injuries. Zaluski & maybe Nadilo back from Overseas. Havent heard much about players from other clubs though. Possibly Stagg and Hodge might come back i guess.

Sorry footy nut, but Mahoney will not be "flashing big bucks" or luring anyone to the River Murray league...he has enough people calling him!

If anything, Mahoney will be making it easier for the Emus to win five in a row! He has received calls from players in other teams in the SFL!

The decision for Vick to stay in the SFL will not be money orientated. Everyone knows he doesnt play for the coin...its more about location, location because of work and living up there.

Yeah mate, at this stage all looks good, I see Swooper has touched on a few, they are certainties, also are expecting 3-4 young guns (similar to Greenbank/Bode) to make an immediate impact from league clubs... All ex pats which is the best part... Footy trip next weekend, off to the Cox Plate, to say the boys are looking forward to it would be a gross understatement... Good times ahead...

Staggy will be back to play 2's i think, finish off where it all started for him, still has plenty of mates at the club, will be more than handy, not too sure about Hodgey, reckon he will stay put for now, would be nice to get him back though...

Heard last night that Trevor Potts has taken on an assistant coaches role at Norwood next year (League), word from the SFL Hall of Fame night is that he reapplied for the South ressies job and they didn't act and were quite unprofessional about it (sounds out of character) now he has found another job... Stated that his most enjoyable time coaching over all the years was his time spent at MV... Also Sampson and Naley to be Cahill's understudies at South for the next 2 years..

I Believe that he lives around that area as well. What a waste of talent that would be to have him playing there. CLG have recruit a mob of B graders from bottom clubs can anyone name a player there that had any influence in the SFL give it 1 or 2 years when the going gets tough and they'll crawl back to where they came.

Also N Hunt back to the Bombers???

Hunt will be handy - good player but Bombers have enough of his type already, Have heard that they are going to be agressive with recruiting in 08 to try and go the next step as they were quite excited in how far they have come with their youngsters this year..

Any idea where Vick is going?
Is it up the river to Jervois or Imperials?

Rumour had it B.J that Jervois had the dollars dangling in his face before the finals so thats my guess - they swooped on him because they know he lives up that way, at the moment he travels to Cove each weekend and stays with family
Bit of a leader at Cove in the playing sense - they will miss him.
Would suit Willunga - want his number could do with a good rover down there

Im sure our recruiting guys know we are short of good rovers down there and have called him already. However could not match the $$ being thrown at him elsewhere.
