Warner being out of this series injured is the worse scenario here.
If he stayed and failed again they could have dropped him for good but now I think they’ll let him rest/heel and they’ll pick him for the ashes.

Who do we have to replace him though? That is my concern

Bancroft heading over
When is Bancroft heading over? Because he is currently paying in WA's Shield match against Tasmania.Jim05 wrote:locky801 wrote:amber_fluid wrote:locky801 wrote:
Warner to be sent home
Hazelwood as well, this is worse than the Jolly Jesters Circus![]()
Is Hazelwood still injured or just coming home as he knows he won’t be playing anyway
Injured with his achilles, now they are also reporting Agar and Renshaw might be heading home WTF is going on over there

He's not the answer moving forward though, it does seem ridiculous that our most consistent batter over the past 6 months loses his #5 spot, it makes sense for him to open in India though so he is facing pace to get his eye in before being exposed to his weakness.
It has Greg Blewett written all over it, although the Blew Boy was moved up so Ponting could move down, I kinda think that worked out well for Australian cricket.

Although I wasn't a great batter I scored my runs generally at well over a run a ball, especially when I opened and the field was up, I loved facing the first ball as it was generally pitched up and outside off, I'd have it pre-meditated that it was going straight over point or gully's head, quite often for 6 if the bowler was quick enough.
I always had the theory that there was a ball that was gonna get me out, I just wanted to score as many as I could before that ball came. If you are a flambouyant run scorer then bat that way, here we are batting in fear struggling to pass 100, if it was a T20 we would've made 160-180, Trav is a prime example from his knock in Brisbane and then Nagpur.

All I read there was an application to be a coach at Cricket Australia

Given he's currently the leader run scorer the the Sheffield Shield this summer (missed out today due to a ripper catch from Tim Paine) he is probably in line for an Australian recall once Warner then maybe Khawaja retire, perhaps he will battle it out against Harris, Hunt and maybe Renshaw for the vacent opener spot(s).

I will have to try and re-like Bancroft, he'll have a huge dark cloud hovering over him for his whole career now so he needs to be really resilient, he is our next best option though.
