Ponting has publicly ruled out the option of Hussey shifting to opener

Its down to Jacques, Rogers or Hodge now that Watson is ruled out

Simply because they are the two spinners with a lot of potential.

Look at the state sides, there is not too many other options is there?

Vic- Cameron White

Tasmania- Xavier Doherty,

WA- Aaron Heal, Brad Hogg (Also contracted) Josh Mangan (Rookie)

SA- Dan Cullen, Cullen Bailey (Both Contracted)

NSW- Staurt MacGill (Contracted), Beau Casson, Nathan Hauritz

Who would you rather be contracted?

Um, Stuart MacGill?????

Sure most people don't like him but as a cricketer his record speaks for itself. Think he easily qualifies to be regarded as a "good" spinner.

but...recent performances on the Australia A tour don't give us much hope of him keeping the selectors happy...

You're right, MacGill is quality, but is ageing, we need to give some encourgement to the younger generation of spinners, and thats why Bailey and Cullen have been contracted. Lets hope they live up to their promise, we could be in a bit of trouble with our spin bowlers once MacGill has gone.

I think KP was referring to spinners that are not contracted.

That man not out 151. Forrest Gump brings up his maiden half century and The Mightys are tar and feathering the WACAs on their home deck. Oh Yeah!

It was a decent knock. I was willing him to go out as I was watching the game between jaunts between the Lillee Marsh stand and the Prindiville Stand (the joy of working in sport!).

The Warriors have been reduced to a pedestrian attack since yesterday afternoon with Edmonson (hammy) and Bandy (abdominal strain) unable to bowl a ball between them - Eddo to miss the Tassie one dayer on Sunday. Our attack was reduced to long spells from Magoffin and Dorey then spinner Heal had the support of occasional bowler Voges and even Pomersbach was used for an over and a half when Eddo broke down.

NSW have just declared leaving WA 468 to win.

Slightly off topic, but Benchy I did a tour of the WACA several years ago when on my honeymoon. And it really is a wonderful facility. Enjoyed spending some time there. Not sure my wife did though!

200 or so diehards here today under blazing hot sun (but the concrete of the stands may be sparking up the degrees a bit). I'm at the point of putting sunscreen on just to go over for a 5-minute walk to the Prindiville Stand.
