Heard the same mail and some of the other players are getting a bit disgruntled with the selectors as they are not getting the chance to play with the BEST Team possible.

Players were told to NOT to comment on Deitzs' non-selection to the media.
Heard Adcock on Radio tonight and when asked by KG about the dropping of Deitz, Played a straight Bat by saying that the selectors have picked a squad that they feel gives the side the best chance of winning and thats THAT basically.

How much longer are They going to continue to pick players that toe the line rather than the Best performing players? Spectators want to see the BEST Players on the park, NOT Rejects like Manou and Adcock that are proven FAILURES.

:butthead: :butthead: :butthead: to the selectors.

you're on the money there JJ!!!!!!!!!

Dietz should be in the side, simple as that. You cant say at this stage that Manou is a better prospect at this stage?

So hypothetically if Manou keeps well and makes say 30 in each innings....will Deitz come back in?
If Deitz has been omitted why don;t the SACA just tell us and get it over and done with

If Deitz returns for the second game........how will the SACA explain that? Hardly fair on Manou to be recalled and then dropped after a single game!!!

Player of the season one day --- dumped the next!!

the selectors have seen them in the nets and watched them for months they will know who is batting better and keeping better. so give graham manou a chance.

My tip for the most runs this year in the PURA CUP by a SA batsman

1ST Cam BORGAS
Heeeeeez baaaaack and SORELY missed last year, need to SHOULDER more respnsibilty now !
I personally think he will have a stellar year and is being eyed off as the FSAC [future SA captain]

2ND Darren Boof LEHMANN
What more can I say about this guy, has thrilled me and many others with his batting
Once an enforcer who hit the ball with awesome power , now a deft clever old man who uses his nous as well as his natural gifted abilty.
He is also bowling better with age
JJ and I will miss the little champ at seasons end

3RD Nathan ADCOCK
Had a much improved year last year and cemented a spot back in the line up
Did play more aggresively last season which helped in the run department
I think the added respionsibily as skipper will assist his batting
Also a handy off spinner

Please note these are Pura cup predictions only
Nationally I think Simon Katich will make the most P/CUP runs this season

i think for cosgroves international chances this year is going to be make or break. and i think this is his year to make 700 to 1000 runs in pura cup

MANPOO has had enough chances

DEITZ should be in the squad

young WADE for the VICS will make runs this game. Wait for him in the one-dayers......

I'll give you a tip for free JOKER, the games played on the pitch in the centre of the oval, NOT in the nets.

Its not exactly a deep bowling attack and there are problems if one of the opening bowlers if not going well on the day

I have questions about that bowling attack. Harris is a good bowler but would you consider him a strike bowler. I think not. I feel 3 seamers and a spinner with Adcock or Boof (when playing) providing the extra spinner.

Anyway at this stage the vics have dug in and are sitting at 3/172. Hussey and White going ok.

I think the attack is good as long as you win the toss and bat . they didnt and hence it is weak. Amazing selections only 2 quicks-

Good point. I expect to see some medium pace from D.Harris soon as well. That would make 2 quicks to meduim pacers and 2 spinners. Not exactly going to strike fear into the hearts of the vic batsmen.

Reckon he has the metal to do the job, just needs a chance, when he was in the side he was thrown up and down the list, in and out the side, this may be just what he needs, something to instill some confidence into him. Having said that, if he has a horrid start to the year he may well be back in district level very quick, I hope it is the former. It was only a few years ago he was being touted as a possible middle order batsman of the future for the test side

VI 5/291 STUMPS
What did I see today with BAYMAN + JACKPOT JIM

new coach
new captaiin
same old bullshit
we pick 2 spinners in October on a seamers wicket [and lose the toss ohhhh no]

0/40 COSGROVE first change bowler
1/47 QUINNEY run out trying to get off strike with Cosy bowling hand grenades
2/48 JEWELL shouldering arms to Cosy LBW
2 charity wickets one to Cosy
CLEARY + ROFE will be scratching thier heads how they are watching Cosy bowl first change [and Tait not playing makes it worse]
3/151 HUSSEY cuts dropped at gully by guess who, Matthew Elliott [nothing changes]
LUNCH 2/76 TEA 3/160
at 3/190 odd I said to BAYMAN whats the bet Daniel Harris will bowl soon [and it happens at 3/200]
New ball taken HUSSEY out 104 White out 5/260 odd + the game for the taking
And then the first change bowler is the Spinner CULLEN oh for Cleary + Rofe......
WADE batted for about 30 minutes and scored 0* the spinner comes on + scores immediately
FFS this side needs a 3rd quick !

That was the day

HUSSEY who made 911 pura cup runs last year another 100 what a player
WHITE a good 75 odd

If SA played 4 quicks on that pitch VI would have struggled to get 200
2 spinners is not the go
1 spinner perhaps for balance
Every time you lose the toss you are rooted with 2 spinners

Reading the posts above what Ive posted about the same old same old has been posted by others
Question is , if we see it why cant the people in charge see it.

On a positive note the ground fielding + throwing the stumps down was excellent today

I think VI will get to 350
and SA will get to about 8/250 TOMorrow

I just dont understand why our local press says things like we've got arguably the best bowling attack in the nation (read it in either today's or yesterday's paper). Time for a bit of reality, we're an ordinary side, and our media shouldn't be saying crap like this and similar things (think i read last year we were a good chance for the Pura Cup title because we had a good side "on paper").
