I get it. They knew JHF wasn't coming back so took the chance to get 2 of the top 3 this year instead of 1 and add our 1st next year. I don't think it's the loser of the deal.

In fact is anyone? GWS get their man, WCE turn 2 and Rioli into 8 and 12. Basically didn't have Rioli, so 2 becomes 8 and 12. There's something for everyone.

On the surface we seem to have done very well, presuming we didnt want Cadman we now get the 2 best mids available for JHF and Port's 1st rounder next year plus some backend picks to get Boomer's lad in.

Also well done to the AFC, to get Rankine on a 3 year deal and not have to go 5+ years is a real win.
Thanks for the best wishes, but Port need all the luck because, bloody hell, I'm 48 and fat with 2 reconstructed knees...

Port must be desperate...

Geelong get pick 33 from Port, pick 27 and 54 from Melbourne.
Melbourne get pick 25 and 58 from Geelong.
Port get Ratugolea.
Geelong give pick 27 and 33 or 54 to Collingwood for Henry.
Melbourne give pick 25 to Collingwood for Grundy, as stated they want a top 25 pick for him.

I see Port have 2 draft picks left and Richmond only have 1 - how does that work when I thought there was a requirement to draft a minimum of 3 kids every year?

Carlton only used one pick in the National Draft last year Jesse Motlop
