Symes is a certainty to join adelaide

The crows will also have a huge GO at Roughead

Great, another flanker who we simply DON'T NEED. Start developing what we've got. Man if this trade goes ahead I will be furious because he doesn't fill a NEED.

Roughead does, I will go insane if we land him. Won't happen though.

Symes was SA most valuable player and an all australian at the 2003 National Championships as a midfielder

I believe he has the capability to play in the GUTS!!!!!

Yes he's started to expand his capabilities this year with the Dogs but IMO there are just too many concerns over his game. Speed, disposal, awareness, just not the player we should be after. Look he's a decent player and he could go on to play 100 AFL games and be a solid player, but we just don't need him. Douglas, Pfeiffer, Vince, Mackay, Hinge= all similar players who we should be looking to develop, not trading for a like player when we really don't need him.

I am not saying that would be the deal, all I am saying is potentially that it something that could be offered..

or

Pick 27 and Kenny McGregor

Why would Hawthorn give up Roughead, a number 2 pick who has developed into a very good key forward and will only get better given he's only 20, for either one of the hacks you mention who couldn't even regularly break into the Crows 22 let alone Hawthorn's? Pick 27 or 10 is hardly a sweetener that makes it worthwhile.

No way would Hawthorn give up Roughead for pick 10 and Jericho. Hawthorn would be looking at a straight swap for Rutten maybe, or maybe Knights and pick 10 (even those 2 deals unlikely to be enough).

Symes better decision-maker, better skillled and better motor (not his car) than Mattner.
Having said that Mattner is good pick-up for Swannies.
