And that's the thing, you can walk in to most places after lunch or mid arvo, no line up, get your name ticked off and bang your done.Pseudo wrote:gazzamagoo wrote:whufc wrote:gazzamagoo wrote:Compulsory voting.
Drove 45 seconds to polling both...…lined up for 15 seconds....voting took another 30 seconds, grabbed the free snag on offer on the way out.
That's not my issue,
my issue is forcing thousands of people to make a HUGE decision but they don't know nor care how to vote/why they're voting.
To top it off, the "side" that got the most votes lost!
Very confusing!

Google "two party preferred voting system". You might not have voted for them on your primary, but you voted for them on your preferences.

Yet I get you.
I love that we live in a democracy but I do laugh that people who can barely manage their own household are forced to vote on what's best for our country...…
With the preferences system we use it would be interesting to know whether results would be different if it wasn't mandatory. There would be thousands on thousands probably millions giving preferences to parties that they have no about etc.

Most of us I reckon
I did give a vote to the Seniors United Party of Australia and offset it with a vote for the Legalise Cannabis Party.
See: I can make a difference - they had their best result ever![]()
Last night Mrs Jimmy told me the Legalise Cannabis Party had their best result ever
I said I had voted for them. The look was pricelessBetter than if I said I'd drawn the cock n balls
