Any one who Thinks either of the gowans will retire is an idiot. there is only one way theres and matty slades record of 8 grand finals in a row can be broken. and that is ifn they make the GF next year. and thay could play in ten GFs in a row in two years time they will be the only 2 to ever do so. with slade turning 32 in june next year i think it will be his last year maybe. so imo chris and james will retire cdfc legends after 2 more seasons and in 10 years time will be SANFL hall of famers.

you would have to punish him hard as it happened in the grand final, at least 4-6 weeks.

What a desperate load of garbage this all is- written by sooky bloody supporters crying into their hankys!!! Ok - it was stupid. But how bad did he actually hit him? Did he lay him out? No. And why did Gowans chase him down with a bleeding mouth? How did that happen? If anyone thinks Gowans did that with 2 minutes to go just for the sake of it, then you are an idiot. Not that revenge justifies the action. No way - he should have just left it alone. But before you sooks all go crying foul - check out the full story. And while I'm at it - North supporters can't talk too loud about dirty play in GFs can they???

1) You'll find it isn't North supporters whinging the majority of posts that have issues with it are from not North supporters, never let the facts get in the way of a good cry though.

2) Gowans had a bleeding mouth as a result of the retaliation for the hit on Schubert, it's not rocket science mate.

Every club has dirty stories from their pasts.
Doesn't mean we can't talk about things that happen.

I guess there's a fine line between clubs and their supporters. We all love our clubs and would do anything for them. But these days it seems the trend that you are judged by the success, or actions of your club. What a load of crap.

Dogs fans aren't better than us because their club has won 6 flags in 8 years. South Adelaide fans aren't worse because they have been waiting 43 years for league silverware.

You should be judged on passion and support. Love. Not success.

What happened in other grand finals means nothing. What happened yesterday, happened. If I was a North supporter I wouldn't see it any differently and it should not have anything to do with commenting on it, regardless of how much you disagree.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Thanks you for your detailed and analytical argument.

James Gowans kicked the goal prior to the incident and closeups on TV clearly see no bloody coming from his lip before the Schubert incident, in fact he doesn't have a scratch, the next play he's involved with is the hit.
And if you read the previous posts and look under everyone's avatar you'll see a little thing called "Team" which shows which team people follow.
Not sure which point of my 2 you were alluding to with your in depth synopsis but you'll quite clearly see that both are in fact 100% my friend.

I'm not too worried about whether I have cred on here or not to be honest. I just think that there was a reason for this incident and heard a caller on radio say yesterday that they saw the reason. Anyway - as I said before, retaliation is no justification and he should have left it alone. But we can not deny the Dogs (including the Gowans boys), are an awesome outfit and I applaud Wedgies for his post saying this on another thread. GO U DOOGGIEEESS!!!!

That may be the case but I think we are still waiting for the 'reason' and I'd take first hand account from Gowans as Wedgie quoted then some anonymous Centrals fan on the radio

Do you know the reason?

Ahh well, its a done deal, if someone called the radio than the ABC must have used digital technology to somehow alter the vision of the game. My email detailing my disgust to the ABC has been sent off immediately. Someone calling the radio has much more cred than actual vision of the game.

Fair enough. Whilst I didn't see what happened beforehand, TV doesn't always capture what goes on behind the play either - so if someone on radio said they saw something, we can't just assume he is lying. Anyway, it will all play out in the tribunal no doubt so let's see what happens. But I would be amazed if this was unprovoked as it was out of character.

Bullshit!
Out of character?

The twins have built themselves on making more out of situations than is actually there. Anytime one brother sees something remotely bad happen to the other brother, it's on.

And don't get me wrong, great players and have added tremendously to the Dogs and their flags - but christ, I struggle to think of anyone more recent times who has had such white line fever.
