lol, early season form mustn't have a lot to do with either as I was at the Bay Oval earlier in the year and Glenelg fans were calling for Rudolph to be sacked. I supposed Vixen or Dasher could have taken his spot.

Luke Jarrad is a good one - his best year thus far (of few!)

It's funny, you can't be considered for the team of the year but you can come third or there abouts in the Magarey!

Agree with Wedgie that North seem a little light on with reps but in all honesty I also think the only hard luck case is Dean Howard.
Others at North didnt play enough footy[Ben Hart] or were inconsistent[a bit like the side].

Mind you in 19 hours time hopefully we will be only concerned about who's shout and when is it my turn to swig out of the T.S.Hill cup. :partyman: \:D/ :partyman:

If that is the side then it's bullshit!!! How can a team who finishes second in the minor round and makes the GF only have two reps??? Howard and Younie at least should have been picked.

Relax Drebin, it's just a few peoples opinion..
It's like picking the next aussie test eleven....

I'd be interested in your team of the year and see how others see it.

Anyhow,,, good luck the roosters today, I hope you win.

Grima was outstanding at full back for the first half of the season. Didn't play there so much towards the end but from what I could tell was the best full back in the comp to round 12 or so it wasn't funny.

Anyone who is nominating a player as unlucky care to name a player they would remove in favour of said "unlucky player"?

It's hard picking a team with a bias towards your own club but I would have found a spot for Howard and Younie and probably O'Hara.

I would have left out Adam Fisher and Jeremy Clayton. I thought Clayton had a so so year based on past years and maybe he got the nod based on other years and not this year?

Maybe Paul Lindsay was lucky too - he certainly hasn't been any better for the Eagles than O'Hara has for North IMO - again maybe past reputation got him selected?

I find it absolutely staggering that Paul Lindsay is listed on the interchange and not in 1st ruck. He has been dominating the rest of the competition for years now he rightfuly deseves the 1st ruck position. I'm not surprised to see McKenzie miss out as he did have an extremely injury interupted season. However Vince and Jarrad both deserve to be in that side.

But seriously 1st Ruck - that is an absolute joke    - there is no way known he's the best ruckman in the comp    . I think we all know that honour is Paul Lindsay's.

Feasty's season was a major reason why Sturt improved greatly this year - it was not just his ruck work but his play around the ground was superb. I admit my bias, but there was only one game that I can recall him getting his colours lowered, against the Bays at AO earlier this year.

As John McInroe would say.....surely you cant be serious !!!!!
Why so many Sturt players ?????
Thought Howard from North was stiff...good tough player inspires others.
Bit soft with so many Sturt players.

Cheers

McKenzie didn't play a lot at CHB this year anyway so certainly wouldn't get a gig there. He was mainly playing midfield/half forward earlier in the year when he polled all his Magarey votes. Was out injured for 6-7 weeks and then played mainly on the half back line. Jarrad is the only unlucky player to not get in the team from the Eagles IMO.

I totally agree, Feast had a very good year, was the better ruckman than O'Hara and deserved to be in the team of the year, hitouts mean nothing. they should have effective hitouts as a stat.

Why not?

SFC, along with Centrals, were the form team for most of the year. Just ran out of puff when it counted unfortunately. For reference, see the Magarey Medal voting.

That being said, I still would've found a place for Dean Howard in that side.
