From a Central perspective, four of the five appear quite worthy. Just not sure about Grima being the best Fullback in the comp.

thats a very solid line up...great effort by Sammy Rudolph, esp after some of the comments over on the Louts after his first 2 games!

From a North supporters point of view I can't believe we have the same as Norwood, 3 less than Sturt and 2 less than Glenelg.
Absolutely staggering that Howard can be a runner up in the Magarey and not even get on the bench.
Even more staggering that O'Hara can make lead the hitouts in the SANFL comp with 322 hit outs in 2007 and Feast can make 164 hit outs and guess who makes the side?
Anyway, not an issue, they obviously got KG and Cornsey to put together the side or the blind school.
Bigger things to worry about like the game tomorrow.
We should be 100/1 with only 2 decent playes in the side.

Ah so it will be the premiership coach this year...I thought it was supposed to be that every year... But I know that the honour above is secondary to actually being the premiership coach.

Wedgie, I agree that MacKenzie is an excellent player but I could not put him ahead of Daniel Schell at Centre Half Back this year.

That's a fair call but there is a bench.

True, and he could have squeezed in front of Kane or Powell IMHO. If we name the side as they would play though, it is very rare that you would have a key position type player on the bench, is it not? One strange thing about the bench - there are four, should it not just be three?

Also, I'll just add to my previous post Daniel Schell at CHB was a no brainer, he's had a fantastic year and is a great guy to boot, had the pleasure of meeting him at Unley Oval this year when he was doing work for LifeFM.
A couple of months later at a North v Central game he said hello to me by name as he'd remembered me. Class.

It's in line with the State Representation - there are 4 on the bench for State matches. This was first done in 2005 with that idea, but there were also 4 on the bench in 1992.

Thanks for those comments on Schelly, Wedgie, and I second them. Btw, wondering if any other player would have ever been selected at Centre Half Back in one year and Full Forward in another? Shows his great versatility.

Could the fact McKenzie missed a third of the season have cost him his spot? He never polled any Magarey votes after round 4 as a result of his injury.

They must put large emphasis on games played.
Call me crazy but I'd rather Ben Hart in my back pocket* as opposed to Rudolph.

Pretty close on the money, this side.

McKenzie wouldn't have included given the footy he missed with injury. Lindsay lucky, Vince unlucky. Powell and Treeby well deserved. Jarrad perhaps?

Agree with Wedgie re lack of North players, also with BDP about Grima. Sherwood had a better year??
