CDC: Yes, for the collective.
ME: How does the collective benefit from me getting poked?
CDC: Because you could spread the virus to someone else who might get sick and die.
ME: Can a poked person spread the virus to someone else?
CDC: Yes.
ME: So if I get poked, I could still spread the virus to someone else?
CDC: Yes.
ME: But I thought you just said, the REASON I should get poked was to prevent me spreading the virus? How does that make sense if I can still catch Covid and spread it after getting the poke?
Conspiracy theories aside, can someone respond to this part of the post.
I'm pro vaccines in general, but I'm not sold on getting the covid vaccine yet.
From what I can tell, given you can still catch and pass on covid, there doesn't appear to be a benefit to society overall of getting the vaccine.
(other than perhaps the argument that I am less likely to take up a hospital bed as I'm less likely to get seriously ill).
After 1 Pfizer you're something like 60% less likely to be hospitalised and after 2 Pfizer something like 92% less likely.
Can they fix dumb too?
You are right Booney initially those stats you provideded were correct for Covid 19 in 2020.
However with the Delta variant the dynamics have now changed.
USA England and Israel are now seeing surges of infections in the Delta virus .
In israel with 90 % of the population fully vaccinated there has been a surge in cases of Delta leading to hospitalisation which of course is expected.
This is an very interesting article plus more and more reports are coming from other said countries.
The way this is going we will all be in perpetual lockdown for eternity.

According to the Health Ministry’s director general Dr. Chezy Levy, between 40 to 50 percent of the new coronavirus infections are in people who have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Approximately 70 percent of the COVID-19 cases have been caused by the Delta variant. “Even though the numbers are low, the fact that this is reaching vaccinated people means that we are still checking how many vaccinated people have also been infected,” Dr. Levy said.1 3
