Yeah the 10k route i do from my home is never more than 2.5km from my house...sort of a circle with a 2.5km radius. it will work but I hate road running prefer the trails.

Theoretically, there's nothing stopping you from running to the shops to do your essential shopping, even where the shops are beyond 2.5km from your home...
