I stand corrected re the push, it was deliberately walking into the umpire & forearm into the left side of the umpire chest to shoulder area when been escorted from the ground for umpire abuse. Words to the effect of "that's holding the f____g ball you c__t.". Also told the umpire "you should quit your job" and "no one gives a **** about me or this game it's just community footy and I couldn't do anything to him"
The tribunal gave a 6 match penalty, down to 5 because of "good behaviour". The player was 19 years old which makes the "10 years good behaviour" even more ridiculous you should not expect poor behaviour in under 10s.
In another incident, an SFL Maroon jacket was recently overhead abusing another umpire at an A Grade Match between Reynella & Happy Valley. Calling the umpire bias in front of supporter at the match. Response from the league - it was a private conversation and the person (an umpire watching the game) shouldn't have been listening.
No wonder the umpires panel cant get umpires - the league doesn't show any support for them.
