As for 2008... I think Swooper and the Last Word are on the money. The Emu's are still a young side with a good mix of experience and they only get bolstered when players return. This club has sure set the standard and its now up to the remaining clubs to follow suit. Learn from the Emu's, its all about professionalism... an area some other clubs clearly need to work on.

isn't if funny rock - I thought you'd be much more confident than that. maybe your true identity has been discovered and people are not as nice on the phone as they once may of been? I bet you thought you would have some news by now. Maybe not a certain as 1st though hey? keep trucking mate and digging that dirt!

There's a difference between confidence and complete stupidity AFLflyer. What sort of person is going to get on here and tell everyone who they are talking to given the fact many other clubs will be looking to recruit as well. As for the phone calls from my end... they have been very positive and interviews have been conducted and are ongoing. I sense a lot of jealously and angst from yourself, its time to let it go mate.
PS. You won't find too many players sign on the dotted line a few days after the GF. And I'm not digging dirt mate it's already splashed all over your club like writing on the wall. Good luck with 08.

dont tell me you dont like digging dirt, thats what you do best. and you can't give credit to a premiership side, thats dissapointing. but no more dissapinting than trying to start more rumours about a group of Kids the week before their big day. but probably like you and others reading, i'm finished with this line of discussion. yep bring on 08 , hope the lads can prove you and others wrong! also hope to see some improving sides. lets hope marion, noarlunga, flaggies and aldinga are the improvers of 2008, even finals threats!

AFLflyer

a). The only as you call it 'dirt' I have is of the RFC. I'd prefer to call it facts.
b). I can give credit to whoever I like and I think a premiership side is more than worthy.
c). These rumours you talk of turned out to be well supported from other posts which would confirm their legitimacy.
and finally;
d). I agree, lets hope there are more contenders in 08.

You guys are a bit eager to jump into 08 aren’t you.
It's hasn't been a week yet since the GF.
How about some discussion on all of the games last Saturday.
Was the GF BOG winners justified, what about the umpiring how about the bar facilities, I loved the grand entrance way to the ground lined with dumpster bins, really classy.
All you SFL posters this year lets here from you especially the ones who didn't have a team in a specific game maybe you’re opinions could be a little more neutral. Then again I wonder how many from other clubs were there and paying attention.
Try posting a new thread instead of endlessly continuing on and on with this one.
Just start it with SFL followed by the topic. It'll make it easy to find a coment on a spacific SFL issue and follow it to its end.
Go back and check out and contribute to the one I've just left. "SFL GF. Best? on Grounds"

I cant understand why other clubs don't follow the winning clubs ways. Morphies have a heap of blokes that really want to play for their mates and the club. Five or six years ago Morphies were a bunch of kids that got pushed around and maybe a little intimidated by the bigger, physical sides. NO MORE. They are the intimidators and have kept the players who evolved (under Pottsy) with a winning type of game plan that they all follow tot he letter. The boys became men and were no longer intimidated. They have rules and they seem to have a pecking order. If a senior player speaks, the younger ones listen and take it in.

Everyone has an ego but these boys put it aside and go hard to benefit the team.

Someone mentioned the umpiring. Have you had a look at the age of some of the umpires? They are not getting any younger and the games not getting any slower.

The bar facilities were RS. I know that SAFC are renovating but it's not as though the SFL wern't aware of this. Trying to get a beer and put a bet on was hard work. The beer was cold though and the punting was RS (maybe sour grapes)

Good call lastword, spot on. I think there are many clubs too stubborn and proud to part with their old ways... hence they travel backwards instead of forwards. The Emu's are setting the pace, now its time for the others to catch up.

Waiting for your call Rock you may ring me and not even know it and if you do and I then findout who you are it will be party time for us at Oval Rd.

Well done to the 18's and the B grade on the weekend. Morphies are a quality side and to go undefeated is a great effort look forward to battle with them again next year.

fly, you'll be waiting for a very long time for a phone call from me mate. I know the people I want to speak to from Reynella so I'll leave it at that. Sorry to wipe the smile off your face champ. You're are itching to know who I am hey... so easily put off your game on and off the field. Save your party for another 30 yrs when that flag might come.

Anyway, getting back to the positive stuff (i dunno about anyone else, but im sick of reynella talk), i thought the messengers did a good job of covering the Grand Final. I live in an area where we get the Guardian, and even we had a full page coverage. Then i saw the Southern Times, and it was awesome, front page coverage and i think roughly 6 or 7 pages worth of stories. Great work guys.

I agree DWW the messenger this year has done a great job, Gordon Armstrong coming in and taking over that role this year has been great.

The Messenger did do a good spread. I was sick to death of seeing Shorty on the paperand in the paper and with him being side on, there was not much room for Kingy to get in the photo.

Mexican,.....

I have heard an ex Noarlunga player is in the mix at Reynella who has coached before. Not sure how the boys would handle it.
