In case anyone misses the Facebook post.
The WSFC is very pleased to announce Trevor Jenkin as its new senior coach for the 2021 season and beyond. Trevor is a self confessed ‘footy head’ & has a work ethic to rival the hardest of workers.
Trevor has written a few words below.
‘I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and say that I’m very honoured to have been appointed to coach at the Woodville South Football Club.
Briefly, I am married to Adrienne and have four children. My three boys all play for the Lobethal Football Club & Adrienne and our daughter Holly spend most of their Saturday afternoons at the footy supporting them. I did not coach in 2019 / 20 as I decided to watch my sons play each week but I found that not only did I miss the involvement & the challenge of coaching too much but I was also slowly driving Adrienne and Holly crazy watching the boys play !
I have been involved in coaching for the best part of 25 years, most recently in the River Murray Football League with the Imperial Football Club where I was lucky enough to be involved in the 2018 A Grade Premiership as their Senior Assistant Coach. I also spent three years with Imperials winning the A Grade Premiership in 2011, again as their Senior Assistant Coach & then finishing third in 2012 and runners-up in 2013. Most of my coaching career has been in the Hills Football League and included stints at the Onkaparinga Valley Football Club ( runners up ) as well as participating in the finals with the Birdwood Football Club, Nairne Bremer Football Club & the Lobethal Football Club.
I can assure you that not only myself but all the coaches are committed to assisting you and the club achieve your goals & that all of us are determined to give you the best possible opportunities to see you and this Club achieve success.
We are currently negotiating with several players about the possibility of joining our club for the 2021 season and if you know of any potential players, volunteers, sponsors or supporters please contact either myself or the club. It is very important that you pass on to us these names as the competitiveness of any football club depends on the strength of its playing depth and members.
2021 will be a very rewarding season with the right attitude from you, your teammates, myself and the other coaches and I am looking forward to meeting with you to discuss our plans further.
As I mentioned if you think of anyone that can assist the Woodville South Football Club in any way or if you have any queries concerning the above or any other football matters please get in contact with me.’
