I heard on the weekend that Meadows full forward Ryan Hunter is being hotly pursued by two Country Division clubs in Callington & Kangarilla with the former reportedly offering him $500 a game.

Red Baron I too heard this rumour. I think what happened was that the smart arse youngster (who played league football with Sturt this season and isn't even affiliated with Mt Lofty) was shooting his mouth off and he was simply put in his place. I think the incident was far from an assult.

I didn't see an ounce of trouble at the club.
If the youngster you're referring to is who I think it is, I'd be a bit surprised. Could have just been that small element of Shanty. But he's a good lad from what I know.

Wasn't a Shanty lad JQ, but with this guys appauling attitude he may as well be. Assault is far from the truth. You dont turn up to an oppositions celebrations (The youngster in mentions team didnt even come close to making the finals), shoot your mouth off and not expect repercussions. Also, these two have been at each other for a while, who cares.... We got three back to back so im not even worried. My liver is a little damaged, wait VERY damaged, however.....

I think you will find he wasn't shooting his mouth off, but some people OVERREACTED to a comment that was made. I was involved in the conversation and all parties were happily involved. Then alcohol and testosterone took over. As a senior player, I was very dissappointed to see the actions of some people who should know better.

Bit dissapointed in the 17s to see a player holding another player down on the ground by the back of the head and laying half a dozen cheap shots on him, with 2 min to go in the game! Also the incident took place in front of the clubrooms where everyone was at Balhannah, bit of a showoff?

Why the hell did he show his face at Lofty anyway? Do you see us going over to Uraidla and talking crap after we won the GF??? Some may call it overreacting, but clearly there were more personal issues involved than what was said.

Couldn't agree with you more GTS, if you punch a player in the family jewels DELIBERATELY, then the punishment dished out defeintely matched the crime, and from what i saw from my excellent vantage point it was 100% deliberate.

Oi you, if the incident is the one involving the Mt Lofty Full Forward, then the cabbage smoker got what he deserved. If i was punched in the nuts i would have reacted the same way as well.

Luvinfooty - there were blokes there from bridgy, onkas and hahndorf on sat night, as well as 200 random people using the carpark as a df, so why is it strange to see one more person there!

I am aware of this spearhead, but there is a difference between turning up to have an drunken night with your mates and turning up and causing dramas, like i said i dont care, we won three, but it wasnt the night to be dishing out personal crap with the coach and several other players.

Was any one else impressed with Jimmy Bartel's humility? Proves that you dont need to strut around and think everyone is there to be stepped over on the way to the top. I know you read this SILKY - one would have thought you got your wakeup call already this season!!!

Fair call, Tex.
I had a good night and one of my mates who is a Shanty thru and thru hung around for most of it.
If we're all adults and you respect others and what's been achieved, it's still having a beer with mates in the end.
I really didn't need to see that many nude blokes under floodlights though!
