Lofty to come home with 3 flags again for mine. Was it 3 or 4 years ago they were flogged by 40 goals against Lobey?? Fair Comeback.

Glad Wyld hasnt got a gig cos the bloke is a deadset tool. Loves to Sledge players from all reports. Disappointed McDonald hasn't got a game though. In my opinion the best ump going round. Morrison was ordinary in the 2nd semi.

For more interests sake: Farmer and Graham have Magoos, and the older TM and younger Bauer have the Senior Colts.

From Kersbrook's perspective, the Magoo players should be happy, as those two have been the best we've seen this year.

McDonald looking old these days but still the best. Morrison should be banished to u17s to join Bauer so we can laugh at the shocking decisions at both ends. Loves to blow the whistle for SOFT frees. I hate SOFT frees. He seems to get grand finals every year doesn't he?

Ted, as JQ said, great insights. But, The big lofty forwards have mainly been held against Uri's as
Gordon did'nt play against Uri's in either game during the regular season and Wait only played the second game and plays mostly up the ground out of the fifty and is rarely a big goal-kicker. In saying that though Gordon only kicked 2 in the 2nd semi against Zillante, but I heard Zillante is no chance of lining up this week as he came off distraught after injuring himself late against Blackwood. Who else would play on Gordon? Pucker? if so that is majorly robbing peter to pay paul as Gordon sets up camp in the goal square these days. I agree with JQ that Nielson will be a major threat for Lofty as he will get the worst Uri defender and has an awesome grab that Gigney, Dray or even Ebel in round 3 couldn't stop. I think the major threat for Uri's (besides the obvious) are D.Brown and Vidic (if fit) as both these guys are capable of kicking a bag. Ebert can also kick goals from the midfield if played loosly which Lofty have a tendency to do. For Lofty I think either T.White or Huff can both kick a sneaky bag of goals, and I predict one of them will.

I believe the determining factor that will decide this year's GF will be Uraidla's fitness. I have heard on the grapevine (as many have) that a large number of Demons are struggling big-time to get around the park. I believe that Lofty have the talent to beat a fully fit Uraidla side yet alone an half-injured one , but I don't think that a wounded Uraidla outfit can out-point a fighting fit Lofty line-up which I believe after the week off they are.

Gordon played the Courier Cup Final at Lofty DM where he was held goalless by Zillante. The word is he won't play but I guess we wont know until the sides run out tomorrow. Flash was one of the major catalysts in last years GF with 6 goals so Uri's are going to have to curtail his influence. T.White has been quiet against Uri's. He has been well held by Staples on all 3 occassions and Ebel well and truly has Wait's measure. Nielsen is underrated and seems to beat anyone that plays on him. Be interesting to see who Uri's put on him when he comes on. Heard he may have a dodgy ankle from an injury suffered in the 2nd semi. Will be interested to see where Richards lines up as he is a matchwinner. Loffler has DK's measure but the other Uri forwards were smashed last time. If the Brown Bros. have come out to play this could swing the pendulum in the demons favour but if their midfield play like they did last time the footy might not get down to them. J.Brown was smashed last time and if the Devil defence play like they did in the 2nd semi Brown will struggle again. Uraidla do have some injuries but at the end of the day if these players put their hand up to play there should be able run out a full game. If they are carrying injuries into the game a quality side like the devils will take full advantage.

twe, yeah mate watched the game closelylast week. cramp can play the game but hes an ex-devil and we know how he plays. read was bog by a mile but think weve got the wingman to go with him. also assume pagey will pull on the boots so another challenge there, but we're very confident.

gotta go against the trend of the forum thou dont think loffler has had DKs measure at all. i think dk really troubles him in the air so loffs has to produce really long leads and when he does get the ball its out on the wing.. doubt he's kicked many goals since the first game DK played on him. he also produces plenty of run out of the backlines.. either way loffs in a gun and could do anything on the day.

key matchups in the A's:
dk-loffler
coops-brown
bauden-cox
and the forward player that lines up on pucker. (beat pucker= beat uris)

Most seem to agree that A grade, and b's too for that matter will be close as.
So, here goes...
A grade - Lofty by 13 points. Medal: Cutting or Flo.
B grade - Lofty by under a goal. Medal: Maslin or Jones
17's - Lofty by 6. Medal: Pistola (kicking 6)
14's - seems IB are considered unbeatable. I haven't seen a 14's match, so I'll go with the flow here.

First time in my life time. Guess Brett's looking for stability. Their Deputies B.Pearce and D.Bingos.

2 Brookers making their Slowdown Debut this year as well.
