Para Districts Cricket Association

Local cricket is the go here. Any talk about local comps, grade cricket, etc.

Been involved in Para Districts for 3 years since Gepps Cross Junior Footy Club fielded an Under 13's cricket team. Has been very successfull and lots of fun for the kids. Made semi-final in 04-05, won the GF in 05-06, (it was a tie actually so both teams won, apparently), but not too good so far this season. Having three 9 yo and two 10yo in the team has made this season a learning experience but will be a force over the next couple of years. Meanwhile our former U13 team now plays as U15's in turf cricket and are having a stellar season...so far.

Carey.
Why is it Hendo and Fitzy can't play cricket because they are unfinancial but the women and juniors can?
Your sitting 5th now and have to beat sides above you to make the Finals. With the predicted wheather for the weekend it doesn't look like you will be playing this Saturday. Any plans at Peake?

Play for Salisbury West's C grade in div 5. Lost GF on the weekend by 2 wickets to Salisbury North.

Salisbury West started training Thursday apparently. Footy clubs senior team all out of contention now so that probably precipitated the beginning of the cricket season! Haven't heard much beyond that. I believe there's little change at Westies this season from last season but Captains have yet to be decided but Adam Ozolins would be fave for A grade captaincy while little from what I understand should change in the A grade team this year apart from a few kids putting more pressure on from below. Should be at least 5 teams at Westies this season, while talk of a 6th team was happening for a little while it's unlikely to happen in the end. Usually the club waits until they're able to fill half an extra team for most of a season with kids coming through before comitting a new team. I don't know anything about any other club so if you don't care about Salisbury West I can't help you

ok thanks for all that...im from Eastern Park and our Seniors started training last Thursday. Not getting too many numbers out yet but its still early days.
A Grade captain this season is Brent Marshall. Should be good for the team with a guy like him as captain.

If anyone else has any news pass it along!!!

What grade are your As in? And how many teams are you going to have? We played your B grade in grade 5 (our C Grade) and dead set they were terrible. We waltzed to an outright win against them and it looked like most clubs were doing the same. Most of the guys were just juniors.

our A grade is div 1 have been for years. Not sure if we stayed this season tho. Could be divvy 2.
Yeah the b grade was not very good last season... i should know lol i was their scorer. Looking like maybe only having one team this year for the first time in ages. Not getting very many out at training and numbers died off last year thats why the B grade was full of kids.
I mean the kids that played last year did their best they were all under 15's. But as far as we can see so far re numbers its not looking the best which wont be very good for our club. Even with 2 teams and a game on every saturday we struggle in Summer. So i got my fingers crossed.....

That was one of 5 grand final teams we had (out of 5 teams on Saturday) and we only had 2 get up. If you guys had knocked us off it would have only been our E grade (featuring G North mind you) that won. I played C grade against Salisbury North's A grade and we went down by 2 wickets.
