Heard some interesting stories from people in the know:
1. Basically all the players hate Siddons, want him gone.
2. Siddons best mate is Tim Nielsen, would require him to sack him which wont happen.
3. Siddons/Nielsen going all out next year to save their jobs by targeting several players.
4. They want Renshaw, Cartwright and Maxwell.
5. Already mentioned they have cut Ross, Page and Dalton, rookies Spencer Johnson and Ben Pengelly too old next year so need full contracts, both probably cut also.
6. Amazingly, Harry Nielsen been upgraded with his contract to the next level by Daddy, so instead of getting $60 to $70k will be getting $120k, because apparently Tasmania have approached him and they dont want to lose him. Conflict of interest much??
Keith Bradshaw needs to step in and sack Siddons and Nielsen, third wooden spoon in a row and nobody is held responsible and sacked?? What an absolute joke!

Sth Aust and Tassie should merge to become the South Tas Tigerbacks

What did Tasmania do to deserve that?

Is Nielsen Jnr getting upgraded a bad thing? We’d be screwed if we lose him.

13 grade teams, so on any given Saturday 12 sides are playing, 12x11 = 132. I
If your side isn't in the top 4 and you're batting at 4, 5 or 6 you are probably never playing state cricket.
That means there's 8 teams with 3 blokes batting 4, 5 or 6 who aren't ever going to make the Shield side. 24 players.
If your side isn't in the top 4 and you're bowling 4th or 5th in the line up you are probably never going to play state cricket.
That means there's 8 teams with 2 blokes bowling 4th or 5th who won't ever play state cricket. 16 players.
You've just eliminated 40 players out of 132 who probably aren't going to make it. 30% of grade cricketers probably aren't ever going to be good enough to make state level. And that's without being harsh on the talent pool.
If we don't fix the grade cricket the state side will continue to fail. All of us on here know it, we talk about it at length, when will the SACA wake up?

It would be so easy to get rid of 4 or 5 clubs without them having to die and lose all their identity.

I agree sadly the truth is with all administrators of the game having come through these clubs themselves there is zero chance their going to force 'their club' to be ones that have to merge.
