Fired the smoker up last week to get a feel for how much charcoal I needed to get to what temperature and for how long. Think I'm ready to give some cooking a crack so I put some wings in a marinate last night, they're soaking that up in the fridge, they'll be in the smoker by noon on Saturday with a view to making a pig of myself around 5 o'clock.

The only concern i have is she has a speech issue and i worry that the other kids will be jerks.. But the school is funding an SSO for her. But i am comforted by the fact that she has zero tolerants for BS...

Kids are kids, unfortunately, but if she stands up for herself ( I'm sure she will ) to the shit kids she'll be fine as her personality will shine through to so many more than the bad eggs. She'll be fine mate, you'll have an influx of sleep over requests before you know it, kids will be drawn to her.

I rate that school holidays are over, my boys brains are fried from PS4 and no structure, got to the stage where I could have worked from home most of this week but have chosen to come to work as it is much more peaceful.

The WCH have decided to stop with the antibiotics with my son as of today, it's somewhat of a win but it's still scary.

He wanted to train with his footy team the other night, I said he could try running some laps, he ran a few and then went to join in with a basic drill but had to withdraw pretty quickly as he felt dizzy.

It's f******* hard trying to explain to him how it's all going to take time to get it all happening again, he had been running lots, going to the gym and was running amok at development squad footy last year, he's sad and frustrated inside and feels a shell of his former self, it's hard to watch.

He'd almost need to start with walking a lap, then 2 laps, then 3 laps etc... maybe if you can scam some sort of recumberence bike so he's sitting down but still doing some cardio.

I've told him to start with power walking, he only has two gears though with everything he does.

We have a go-nowhere bike but he wont use it.

The Cornish Kitchen, Moonta. Unbelievably good Cornish Pasties.
Add to that this week some great rib eyes & red wine, blue swimmers & squid with cold tins & tonight some lovely lamb chump chops.
I’ve eaten like a king & drank like a fish this week off & loved every minute of it.

Wings - Absolutely perfect, fell off the bone.

Chook - Needed 40 minutes in the oven at 200° to finish off, was juicy as can be, rub was awesome, peppery goodness.

Ribs - Not quite fall off the bone, probably needed another hour to be perfect.

Loved doing it, can't wait to do a proper 6-8 hour cook with some ribs or brisket on board.

Fuel was heat beads with apple woods chunks for the first 90 minutes, just heat beads for the last 2 hours. Total cook time was 3.5 hours at 225°F.

The change in Nik Kyrgios. He played his heart out last night, chasing down balls he'd normally just give up on. Lost his cool a bit at the umpire but regained himself when normally would give up on the match. Really hope this "new" Nik Kyrgios continues to grow.

I agree totally, I loved watching the game last night and was waiting for him to explode, he only smashed one racquet and tried to quickly give it away as a souvenir.

It's not hard to earn back respect from the average Aussie, rule #1: Don't be a wanker.

We get it a bit with our tennis stars, they grow up though, I could only imagine what I would've been like if I played professional tennis.
