No A4 grade
Yeah, 25 teams nominated this season, down from 27 (Basket Range and Eastern Ranges both down to 1 side). Only 4 clubs had an A4 last year, so I guess it was scrapped.
As a reference point, it seems participation peaked 2015/16, with 37 team nominations (which included 4 from Happy Valley and 1 from Clapham).

Also why doesnt the A&EH make A Grade teams play in the 20/20’s? Would love to see Woodside, Strath and Hahndorf playoff and make the comp more competitive?

Gumeracha (50)- Plenty of depth, rumored return of C. Sumner will make them tough to beat
Lenswood Ranges (50)- Playing more consistently than last season
Cambrai (40)- Perhaps reply a little too much on Greiger with the bat, but keep doing the job with the ball
Palmer (30)- Outside of Rathjen struggling with the bat
Eden Valley (30)- Have been competitive despite unsettled line up
Paracombe (20)- Too many quality players missing from previous years to be a challenger
Birdwood (10)- A couple of good young quicks but their batting still disappoints
Mt Torrens/Charleston (10)- Wont win many games with their bowling attack. Had to forfeit in R4.
The B's Gumeracha and perhaps surprisingly Eden Valley lead the way, Paracombe and Cambrai should round out the top 4. Palmer competitive on and off, Birdwood battling, while at Lenswood we recently split our players across two sides which'll make finals more challenging.

Lobethal after finishing 5th last season after winning 8 of their last 9 matches have taken Woodsides spot with Strath , Hahndorf and L Creek the other 3 teams maintaining their spot in the Finals.
1st Semi Final
Lobethal (3rd) v L Creek (4th) at Lobethal
Since losing their first 3 matches of the season, Lobethal have been undefeated and hit the Finals as the FORM team of the comp and will face off against the other Tigers of the Comp, reigning Premiers L Creek. Creeks will be hoping to emulate last years incredible Premiership coming from 4th spot and winning 3 away Finals in a row. Last year they hit the Finals on a roll of 5 successive wins and had momentum unlike this season where they have played little cricket in the last 2 months with wash outs and Byes and have been inconsistent when they have played.
It looks like it could be a cold damp day at Lobethal on Saturday and whichever sides batsmen can hold their nerve on the traditionally very slow outfield there could go a long way to deciding who progresses to Sundays Prelim Final
2nd Semi Final
Strathalbyn (1st) v Hahndorf (2nd) at Strathalbyn
Strath have been the most consistent team all year and deserve their top spot whilst Hahndorf have done well to finish 2nd and hold off the fast finishing Lobethal by beating leading contenders L Creek and Strath the last 2 weeks and earn the Double Chance.
The pressure is on BOTH teams to win the flag this year as Strath havent tasted success since 1997/98 whilst Hahndorfs last flag was 2001/02 after losing the unlosable GF last year.
Both teams may well face off in the GF in the following week but im tipping Strath to be the 1st one there and will be great to see an A Grade Grand Final played on Turf
A2 Grade
Macclesfield have finished top again and will be looking to avenge last years GF loss and maybe springboard their way back into the A Grade Comp which would make it a desirable 10 team comp again.
B Grade
L Creek have proven to be the best team for the year to finish top and its theirs to lose but have to deal with the Brad Horsell one man show for Mt Barker in the Semi Final 1st. Horsell has made an incredible 1053 runs for the season so far with 5 tons and 4 half centuries with 2 180+ scores. If Creeks get him for 4 as they did the only time they played this year they'll surely win.
C Grade
Strathalbyn finished top clearly and would be a massive shock if they don't win it. Their batting line up would towel up most A2 bowling attacks

Thats incredible about Lobethal.
Were they missing players in the first 3 games or something.
Just unusual to see such big turnarounds in form in cricket.
