The tactics he employs slows the game down as scoring is almost impossible, sure he's got Smith a couple of times yet we've still thumped them twice and look set to hand them their arses on a plate again in the next day or so.
Then we hear how much of a fighter he is and he throws his wicket away yesterday with a shocking shot to Lyon. Give me a break.
They've fallen to pieces like every pretender who has arrived on our shores has in the past. They came here ranked #2 in the world, ready to challenge us and they've been nothing short of ordinary with bat and ball and clearly they've got no depth. Raval can't play (hasn't got past 33 in 1st class cricket since February 2019 and he's in their Test team!) they've got 4 keepers in the side plugging gaps as well as Raval, must have plenty of batters coming through the domestic comp, Henry for some reason gets picked ahead of Southee ( Henry has 28 Test wickets at 49 and goes at over 3 an over ) and Astle gives all park leggies some hope.
Next!
Definitely not... He isn't a batsmen... Bowled an absolute treat this summer. His stats the past 12 months are just about as good as anyone's.
Agreed, he's done all he can for his team with the ball in hand and can't help that the rest of his team have been poor. Whilst the way he bowls and gets wickets isn't what we consider 'good' cricket it gets the job done, he's consistently picked up wickets and that's all you can ask for. You have to respect him for his consistent execution and ability to back up and do it each test match.
Don't get sucked into how the commentators carry on.
NZ as a whole though have been f**king pathetic, irrespective of the test rankings I certainly thought and hoped they would of performed alot better in this series.
Resting Southee due to his heavy workload is ridiculous. Seeing him on TV sitting there in his whites with the blue vest on pissed me off, he's one of there best bowlers and if fit should be playing irrespective of the series result, there's still test match championship points to play for now.
