Can see a rookie contract setup in the NFL similar to the NBA's before long.
62 million dollars for six years for the fifth pick in the draft, Levi Brown, who by the way is an offensive lineman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those who follow it, fancy Brady Quinn holding out. So what if you thought you should have been a top 3 pick, fact is you weren't and you're not going to get top 3 pick money so get over it.

What a game it must have been between the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinatti Bengals!
Cleveland ended up winning the game with 51-45.
Unheralded Browns quarterback Derek Anderson (6th round draft choice in 2005) threw 5 TD passes and former Raven Running Back Jamal Lewis proves he's still got it with 215 yards rushing on 28 carries.
Wouldn't be often that you'd have a receiver like Chad Johnson (11 catches for 209 yards) and a quarterback like Carson Palmer (threw for 401 yards on 33/50 passing with 6TD's) put up the numbers they did and you still end up losing the game.

What about the season by Randy Moss?
Through the first 4 games for his new team New England, he's got 31 receptions for 505 yards and the Patriots have won their first 4 games easily, scoring at 38 points in each of the first 3 weeks and they had a 34-13 win over the Bengals this morning.
Of course, Brett Favre became the all time leader for passing touchdowns and the Packers are off to a 4-0 start. I stated on this forum a while back that I thought he should have retired at the end of the 2005 season but he certainly looks like the Favre of old at the moment.

With not much of a rush offense Favre will be passing 35-40 times a game... and at the moment he is passing awesome!

Although Tony Romo is having an outstanding year... quite handy because he is a free agent at the end of the season.

New England and Dallas Cowboys are getting my money most weeks. With Green Bay if I can get a good line.

From memory, Favre always looks the Favre of old early in the piece in recent seasons, but falls away a little as the season wears on ... With the Packs off to such a good start this year and contenders to be in the thick of it at business end perhaps that will change a bit.

Probably the best QB I've seen in my time of watching NFL.

The man who was at one point considered an enormous draft bust but has gone on to have a better than average career in Quarterback Vinny Testaverde has been signed by the Carolina Panthers and despite him turning 44 next month, he's likely to start this week given that starter Jake Delhomme and third stringer Ben Basanez are out for the year and Backup David Carr hasn't practiced this week due to injury concerns of his own.
The Dallas v New England match up should be one of the highlights of the early season.

Patriot quarterback Tom Brady is certainly on pace to shatter a number of passing records, the chief one being number of TD's thrown for in one season. He has 27 at the one game short of halfway mark for the year and the record currently stands at 49 and he has only thrown 2 interceptions. The good form of Randy Moss at wide receiver also continues.
Interesting that Tennessee Titan's Rob Bironas set an NFL record when he made 8 field goals in a 38-36 win for the Titans over the Houston Texans.
New 37 year old Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia has been a good fit for the Bucs this year throwing for 7 TD's and no interceptions so far and having a QB rating of 106.4. Don't know how much of a career he has left though at his age.

ORDB, do yout think is it possible that the Pats will go 16-0?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
