Booney wrote:THE PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB has announced an increased partnership agreement with Carlton & United Breweries through Pirate Life for 2020.
CUB has been a long-term partner of Port Adelaide and has increased its agreement to become one of the club’s Premier partners.
Port Adelaide Chief Executive Officer Keith Thomas says it has been a fantastic partnership that continues to evolve.
“It is great for the club to continue its association with such a strong recognisable national brand,” Mr Thomas said.
“It has been a long-term connection with CUB - dating back to 2012 - and we are rapt to increase our level of partnership.”
CUB acquired Pirate Life in 2017, and the Pirate Life brand will become a new joint major partner of Port Adelaide’s SANFL side, as well as retaining the naming rights of the Deck at Adelaide Oval for AFL home games.
Thomas says the agreement with Pirate Life provides an exciting opportunity for both organisations.
“Port Adelaide and Pirate Life are very much aligned,” he said.
“Both organisations have a strong community focus, and to partner with another great team from Port Adelaide’s heartland is pretty special.
“We had our 150th anniversary logo launch at the Pirate Life brewery. It was a great day and the fit was just perfect.
“The special edition lager they have created - with the club’s new logo - looks and tastes great. I’m sure the Port Adelaide community is loving it.”
Mr Thomas’ sentiments were echoed by Pirate Life co-founder Jack Cameron.
“We’re super excited to continue to build on an already great relationship with Port Adelaide,” Mr Cameron said.
“Now that we call Port Adelaide home, with our new brewery and hospitality venue, we are looking forward to working with the club to do some great things for not only the footy community but for everyone in Port Adelaide.”
CUB’s regional Sales Director Dany Savage said the partnership made sense.
“We are pumped and very optimistic about our continued partnership with the Port Adelaide Football Club,” he said.
“It makes perfect sense to have Pirate Life play a significant role as a part of the increased partnership given both organisations’ links to the Port Adelaide community.
“As the club approaches its 150th anniversary, we are honoured to be partnering alongside it.”
