How would Feast feel missing that shot at goal in the last qtr?

while waiting to go into the rooms the sturt players were walking past & feast was very emotional & macgown had his arms around him telling him that he was great all day (i agree) & if it wasn't for him the game would've been lost a lot lot earlier as he kept us (sturt) in the game, i thought this was great as i'm sure macgown would've been just as gutted as feast & as for what was said in both rooms by mickan in sturts & nelson,macgown in ours it showed the true sportsmanship of both clubs

Great result for the tigers, come from behind win shows the self belief that mickan has installed in the boys. Their form in the second half of the year has been magnificant. Sturt were good all day andshould be proud of their year. As for the eagles next week drew two weeks ago,momentum is everything so go the tigers.

Have to agree with the topic heading. Glenelg did show some real grit to stick with the Blues and overcome us in the end. Rick MacGowan said Sturt were too frightened to take the game on and I'd have to agree. With the players we had on the ground yesterday, we should have won by 3-4 goals in those conditions but to the bays credit they made more of their opportunities than Sturt and therefore play next week.

The game itself was pretty horrid with the exception of a couple of passages of play. Won't comment on the umpiring at all...

Where to for Sturt? I think it's obvious that we've developed a team which will be challenging for the next few years at least. With unearthed players like McDonald, Evans, Gregory, Herring, Hurse, Crane, Wark and the recent arrival of Sharples, I think we're looking good. A years footy under their belts and the bitter taste of two losses like those we've had in the last fortnight should keep the fire burning over the next five months.

Good season Blues. Disappointing end but we've laid some solid foundations.

there's no doubt that the only real difference between the two teams today was discipline. A lack of it at a few key moments was what cost us the game today.

From a neutral's perspective watching it on TV, I think you are %100 OTM there Zippy!

the crucial error sturt made was the nelson kick inboard which resulted in the moore goal. was a very risky kick given the conditions- sturts errors lost the game (inc the feast kick obviously) not glenelgs "guts" IMO. It was a nod of the heads and the blues took the gas. Chambo would have impressed a few scouts with that performance in terrible conditions- i reckon hel get picked up- someone will be thinking hes another Q lynch.

to get where we go to for the year was good, written off at the start of the year as wooden spooners, then losing the double chance. good young players have come through and will hold us in good stead for the next couple of years.
