After the game your coach and captains visited the Bays rooms, and spoke for a minute or so.

You could have heard a pin drop.

They congratulated us on a great/hard game of footy, and Rick made a point for the bays not to think they have done their job, but to keep fighting our way through the finals.

Absolutely magnificent gesture.

I heard something about that on the radio, wow that is great stuff.

Was a great game. Seeing all the Blues players on the ground after the game, you couldn’t help feel for them. I was cheering on the Bays, but Sturt had a marvelous year, virtually top 2 all season and they’re out in the first week of the finals. Heartbreaking for them.

Expect nothing less but great sportsmanship from Ricky!
All the same, well done to Sturt and Ricky on that. Takes a lot of courage after the closest of losses possible.
Cheers

Sturt went from 50 points up last week and a double chance spot to losing elimination final. They got stuck into North when we stuffed up the double chance twice, but at least we won the Elimination final both times.

I know that after the kick went through for a point I now have to find another remote for my set top box.

Congratulations to Glenelg.
Always shattering losing a final especially by 1 point.
Sturt VERY undisciplined on occasions, Chambers alone gave away 125 metres in penalties.
Given your 8 year absence from the finals I hope you can reach the GF and play North (hopefully).

Raising hand...

Cheers to you SP, the comp has been richer for your club's effort this year and this board has been richer for your passion.

Cheers to Ricky MacG & co. for the aforementioned gesture; they are all class.

Special cheers to purch and zipzap who sought me out to shake hands afterwards. I feel for you guys. I think it was Wellington who said "Next to a battle lost, the saddest thing is a battle won". Never a truer word was spoken.

Well done Bays, you've had the wood* on us this year and thoroughly deserve your spot in the finals. And like Rick said, here's hoping you go a whole lot further this year.

Funny, I was commenting to someone today about how much Feasty's overall game has been enhanced by his vastly improved disposals - then THAT happened. Poor guy. Hope he plays on next year.

Having calmed down a bit about some of the questionable over-officiating especially in the final term, there's no doubt that the only real difference between the two teams today was discipline. A lack of it at a few key moments was what cost us the game today.

Well done Bays. Too good and perhaps too fit in the end. Benny Moore's last quarter was a true Captain's quarter leading from the front.

Hopefully the Bays can go deep into the finals. Would be great for SANFL footy to see a "changing of the guard". I noted that McConnell was down a bit today and he doesn't usually have two quiet ones in a row. Look out Eagles!

Interesting to note that Mark Mickan went into the SFC rooms after the game and spoke, as did Rick and Ben Nelson in the GFC rooms. A great SANFL finals tradition. Well done to Mark and Rick - two of the game's true good blokes.

Onwards and upwards for 2008 Blues!!
There is only one team I love as much as the Double Blues, the Double Blues Reserves.......
