Boys I am a GSFL player/supporter but I have been to a GF at Port Noarlunga and it is one of the best atmospheres I have witnessed, this coming from a bloke that didn't give a toss about the result. Souths home ground is shit! Take local footy back to local grounds!!!!
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

The starting point is to find a club that "can" cope with the requests of the league, as always what the league demands may not be possible i.e. the under age drinking, South can't do anymore than what one of our local clubs could do so i don't see this as a major problem. I would bet anything that the league would try to stamp out any such "ticket" to have the GF moved back to a suburban ground so it would be imperitive that all the "I's" are dotted and the "T's" crossed, then it would be a matter of getting the majority of the clubs to agree, if this forum is anything to go by then that would seem a formality. Once all of this had fallen into place then i can't see how the league could not move the game back. The league cannot be bigger than the clubs. Having said all this it would not surprise me to hear the league are locked into a long term deal with South Adelaide, if this is the case then we are screwed.

Maybe the Dogs with his High profile could put his name and more importantly face to a partition that could be used at the GF this year I think you would have people lining up to sign it! If not maybe get one sent to all the clubs for everyone who agreed at each club could sign it and send it back into the league put the onus back on the league to explain its position!

As always Zelezny, you have an opinion on everything, which would normally make someone so opinionated an ideal candidate to represent the clubs and speak to the league on their behalf. The only difficulty is noone can comprehend your way of thinking. Does anyone with logical suggestions have anything to say?
Can anyone find out if the league entered into a long term contract with South Adelaide? This might put an end to our wishful thinking!

That would be a shame as they will start to lose more and more people to the game if its gointo stay at south

When you come up with a logical and feasible suggestion feel free to comment on others but I don't see any great ideas coming from your posts could it be your stoned or is it just that you wear clogs!

Interesting you say "A Club" although it has been MV reynella the last few years im sure all clubs would love it moved why cant all the non participating clubs equally share the work load and make the day smooth so there is less pressure on One club then have profits go towards benifits of clubs or the League.

Good call Turk.

Just becuase the GF is being played at one oval, say Porties, GF day is a day for the league and all of its clubs and supporters to celebrate and not just the two teams playing in the big one. It would be fair for all clubs to pitch in with catering, cleaning, security, car parking etc to ease the workload.

Surely the league would be open to forming a GF day working party, involving members from each of the clubs. Surely we can put our brains together to come up with a solution to get GF day back to a grass roots ground.

It would be interesting to know what the associated costs of GF day are, and where the profits (if any) go from GF day...this would give the working party something to work from if costs are the major issue.

Of course, we would need to run all of this past Zelezny for his valuable opinion.

May have misunderstood me there Turk or perhaps i wasn't as clear as i thought. What i meant is that we must find a club that can cope with the definates, such as, crowd capacity, drinking regulations, security etc. from there the best scenario is to have all clubs participate resulting in a profit sharing at the end of the day. I believe the biggest hurdle will be convincing the league that a local ground can do the job, we all know it can and has in the past but convincing the league on this could be another issue.

My money's still on a long term deal with South, seems a very "league" thing to do... I hope i'm wrong though...
