Having said all this it would not surprise me to hear the league are locked into a long term deal with South Adelaide, if this is the case then we are screwed.

I would bet anything that the league would try to stamp out any such "ticket" to have the GF moved back to a suburban ground so it would be imperitive that all the "I's" are dotted and the "T's" crossed, then it would be a matter of getting the majority of the clubs to agree, if this forum is anything to go by then that would seem a formality. Once all of this had fallen into place then i can't see how the league could not move the game back. The league cannot be bigger than the clubs. Interesting you say "A Club" although it has been MV reynella the last few years im sure all clubs would love it moved why cant all the non participating clubs equally share the work load and make the day smooth so there is less pressure on One club then have profits go towards benifits of clubs or the League.

Just becuase the GF is being played at one oval, say Porties, GF day is a day for the league and all of its clubs and supporters to celebrate and not just the two teams playing in the big one. It would be fair for all clubs to pitch in with catering, cleaning, security, car parking etc to ease the workload.
Surely the league would be open to forming a GF day working party, involving members from each of the clubs. Surely we can put our brains together to come up with a solution to get GF day back to a grass roots ground.
It would be interesting to know what the associated costs of GF day are, and where the profits (if any) go from GF day...this would give the working party something to work from if costs are the major issue.
Of course, we would need to run all of this past Zelezny for his valuable opinion.

That's a bit harsh I haven't read a valuable opinion from the Chucks yet!
