The pres said that our plans haven't changed, we'll be bringing someone in to win games. To me that means, no training period, no training wheels, no initiation, no rebuild.

If Roos or someone else was to come in it would be as a mentor, not as coach.

Our list is in good shape. We have depth for the first time in years.

I'd love to see Roos/Teague or even an Eade/Teague combo. Someone to help a fledgling coach. Note, this type of in club mentoring seems to not work as it this position doesn't exist or hasn't been proven to exist within club ranks to date.

Collingwood tried. We tried. Both failed and weren't replaced.

Apparently Daisy Thomas has been told he won’t be playing on next year.
Kade Simpson may still get another 1 year contract.

I’d be inclined to give Thomas one more year on a reduced salary as he’s been good this year.

I read the same thing... they should both get another year on reduced coin... Daisy is a true team man... as frustrating as he can be, he's still good enough to play a role...

Simpson clearly still in our best 22, deserves another year
Thomas has been good for our young blokes this year but (with even luck) Docherty comes back for 2020 and Thomas is pushed out.

True, though unless we can trade someone in, find a real "small" forward on our list or draft a ready made one I would play Daisy as that defensive small forward position...

Play a 33 year old as the high pressure defensive small forward?

How has Gibbons been going? Can he play a forward pressure role for the Blues?

I would have , but I am clearly no AFL head coach, and Daisy's retired (at the end of the year) anyway... :)

Started season as small forward and was terrible, to be fair our structure going forward under Bolton was terrible. Been playing more mid than fwd since Teague has come in. Same problem when drafted Deluca mid season, trying to make mids as small fwds doesnt work.

Sounds like they wont get a choice when Teague wants him back.
I think both clubs will be happy with this. You get him as a mentor and the fans will love it coming back. We clear his salary and allow a younger small forward to play.

Good marketing for the Blues, which would be an important component of their resurgence

I have no idea why I listen to that station in the morning on the way to work (won’t listen to 5AA for fear of hearing Dave from Alberton win another prize  ) but it’s just constant sling shit at Adelaide. Last 3 days has been like Groundhog Day.

One media outlet reports something true or not and everyone piled on

Didn’t Eddie say yesterday morning he was staying in Adelaide then come afternoon a different media person announces he is going. Rinse and repeat

If Carlton want him to somehow mend their broken heart well off you go. Should retire as he is past his best

They aren't giving much away to get him. Small contract, be handy for the young kids and can kick 30+ goals... It's not the worst thing they could do
