lovely weekend of footy so far boys... as DA stipuated (did i just make up a word??) PORT---win, CROWS---lose, 3 DEVILS SIDES---win

F$&king Bang!

umpiring wasnt too bad in the first half of the B's. the older bloke was pretty good i thought. the young fella was a bit freaked out i think.. sent one of our blokes off for the blood rule and then bounced the ball up before he was even off the ground, so we had one less in the guts and IB got a goal from it.. didnt think they were paying frees that werent there, they were just majorly precious..

anyway best be off to goat park to watch some footy!

PS, is it true meadows were up by 7 goals in the 4th and lost it???? choke!!

hey boys it was good playing with you last season, however i signed yesterday with Mt Lofty, they have a good ground and the amount of hot chicks that go and watch is awesome, i went out with Shane Lynch to watch them yesterday and he tore up the contract good luck for next season...

Good wins by Lofty in the three grades - well done. Best game to watch though was the B grade. Thought both teams pretty even thoughout the day. Ironbank had a pretty rough ride with that 12 yr old umpire (he looked scared on occassions), god help everyone if he gets a Grand Final.

Not a bad day of footy out at Lobethal yesterday. How good are Ironbanks u/14s, Never seen anything like it! Thought Uraidla threatened there in the third quarter of the As but the opposite happened.

The old ump in the Bs was good but that young kid was extremely ordinary, Bawden just walked past him (may have mumbled something but it was in front of where I was sitting and i didnt hear a thing), gives 50 from the pocket to the goal line and 4 points the margin! Anyway Ironbank cost themselves and if they get through this week, expect a cracker in the grand final Do they play extra time for grand final draws in the hills?

Blackwood beat Onkas by 7 goals in the A Grade and won by a couple of goals in the B Grade against Uraidla today to move into the prelim finals next Saturday at Hahndorf.
For some backing a Melb Cup winner at 125/1 is a dream........for me its a fact !!!

Great stuff, Devs. I saw most of the B's and all the A's and must admit that an IB Lofty B grade GF would be a cracker. If Lofty can get it to space, they will kill IB. But when it was around the packs and stoppages IB fought their way back into the game.
A grade was dead set close for 3 and a bit quarters then it just BLEW APART.
One major thing that Grainge hasn't obviously entrenched in his players is 'front and centre'...it took almost 3 quarters for Huff or Floreani to scout the crumbs at a contest and snap truly, then it wa a barrage. The fwd line was limp for quite a while as Lofty dominated at the tap and defended well. J Brown completely ineffective and got dragged.
Bawden I would say lost maybe 2 taps in total ALL DAY. He's a freak.
Problem is...Blackwood winning, who wants to see them in the GF

The game was always going to be won in the midfield and quite simply Uri's got smashed in the midfield from the outset. The only thing that kept Uri's in the game up until 3/4 time was their backline who did a good job holding Lofty's name forwards. With the exception of Loffler who was outstanding their forwards had a deadset shocker. Brown brothers were inconspicious. Personally thought Cutting was best on ground. He had a field day. Whoever was on him gave him far too much latitude. Credit has to go to the Lofty backline. I previously wrote on this forum that their backline was going to struggle to contain the Uri forwards but they made me eat my words. Outstanding performance.

Fair call, Ted. It was frustrating to watch the midfield carve and then don't you reckon it just faded away at HF and FF lines? Then in the last it just all changed.
I would have had Cooper and Bawden as top 2 but Cutts got a lot of it.
Hopefully White has the kicking boot on in 2 weeks as he was well out of sorts on Saturday.

The young umpire in the Lofty v Ironbank SF on Saturday was Scott Bau. In the last few weeks the Great Man Trevor MacDonald has been taking him under his wing for finals football. Unfortunatley that wing just isn't big enough. Would love to see this young fella develop into a decent umpire cause we need them, but right now he is a deadset shocker and could not possibley be given a senior GF. Would hate to see another result so badly effected by the Umps but I/bank boys need to keep mouths shut too.

Trevor Morrison started out just like Scott Bau and has now developed into an ump that's not great but doesn't ruin every game.

Fantastic to see my pleading answered with the Great Man stepping back into Div 1 in past 2 weeks, have missed him.

AF - you're not blaming the ump for your loss on Sat are you?
I saw SOME ordinary decisions go both ways.
A crazy decision by Lofty B grade coach also helped your cause...and Fleety's mouth.

MT Lofty in 3 grand finals, not again!
Saturdays games were dominated by the forwards in the 14's (shearwood) U17s (pistola) and B grade (campbell?), so was expecting Joel Brown to have a big influence on the A's, but did he get a kick?

Cambell didnt really dominate he had limited touches i thought lethal did a good job on him, but cambell just doesnt miss i think he has kicked something like 14 straight the last two times we have played ironbank the best set shot going round at the moment!

LP - I'm not sure, but I reckon Brown may not have got a touch, full stop. I can't remember him having a shot on goal. I think they only kicked 6.

good day of football out at Lobey.

I must admit, I reckon lobey is a better place for spectators then onkas. Would like to see the GF played their, but will probably not happen.

Some of the umpiring was terrible in the B's, but I must admit, as long as they stick with it all day and be consistent, then there is nothing to worry about. I think all on here would agree the umpiring has been bad for a long time. All we ask for is consistency!

A grade game was a good game. Interesting to see how the result would go this week with blackwood looking like they are playing good footy. Uri's looking sore and sorry at the moment.

But I bet you they will fight there way past blackwood and make the GF. It will be a cracker of a GF with the result being very close. Can't go past the Dev's having a week off resting up.

I thought the midfielders didn't stand out as it was a close in contest all day besides cutting who played very well. Agree the Bawden carved up. Pucker tried hard but just couldn't do it all himself.

I thought the match up of loffler and Stevens was a great battle. Still thought stevens took the honors as loffler doesn't seem to stand out as much when he plays on stevens. He still provides the best contest in the hills though!
How good is footy!
