Boonys - Port Noarlunga
Despite having my "Boon" shirt on I didn't get any discount, but that's ok as the food was well worth paying full tote odds for

.
4 of us for lunch, Sunday before New Years. Nice little place, great day after a few wineries and a brewery or two in McLaren Vale.
Sat outside at a 4 seater table, had a waitress ask us almost upon sitting down if we wanted a table water, "yes please". Came back with water and menu's, disappeared for 5 minutes and came back to see if we wanted drinks, ordered drinks. Good work. Brings the drinks out and says "I'll be back in 5 minutes or so to take your orders, that ok?". Sure is. Came back around 5 minutes later and took orders. Perfect. Brings the entree out for us to share, checks if we need any more drinks, all good, heads off. Comes back as we are finishing entree "All ok?", yep, "Drinks?" yes please, drinks come out just before mains. Saw her once more about middle of mains to see if everything was ok, IMO, great service.
Kicked off with roast pumpkin arancini balls, big tasty, moist, shared a plate of 4 so one each, perfect little starter.
Myself and mate went the slow cooked moroccan lamb burger, Mrs Boon went the lasagna, mates wife the fettuccini alla panna.
Lasagna was huge, fettucini the same, neither of the ladies finished their feed. Lamb burgers were excellent, BUT, they'd drizzled a pesto oil on the top of the bun, WTF for? Big burgers are hard enough to pick up, hold and consume at the best of times without getting covered in grease, why put a topping of oil on the bun? Only complaint.
2 Swell Pales for me, 2 Swell goldens for the mate, 2 bourbons and coke each for the girls, $160, $80 per couple, $40 per person, pretty good value.
Food - 9/10
Service - 9/10
Value - 9/10
The place looks like a standard pizza bar, burger joint but the food is much better than the place's appearance suggests. It's better than a pizza/burger joint, give it a whirl if you're down that way.
PAFC. Forever.
LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!
