The Districts V Seaton games was pretty good, I think Districts kept Seaton in the game with some sloppy skills (probably due to the pressure of a final).
It was good to see a close game in the end & I was actually hoping for a draw to see some extra time played would have been battle of the fittest.
There was a Seaton player playing in the backline (number 12 I think) that was pretty good in the second half. I think the seaton crowd were calling him Cordy or something like that, he is built like a tank.

Sean Coard? Long hair? Ultra well balanced? Best player in Div 2 I reckon....
It was a great game on the weekend and both sides did have their chances to ice the game at some stage. What was disappointing was the level of umpiring throughout the entire game. The inconsistency was terrible and it really did detract from what was a great game of finals footy. Districts got a really good ride from both umpires especially in the last moments of the game. The last holding the ball decision was a disgrace and it cost Seaton the game. You just hope the fact that a senior delegate from the amateur league also aligned to Port Districts talking to the umpires at every break didnt have anything to do with this.

Have seen a bit of div 2 footy this year my thoughts are:
Port Districts Steed Tosold Peuker Seaton Coard Wilkins Modbury Garfoot Jolly Scotch: Rosser Bourne SHOC: Winstanley Yeomans Payneham: Burrows PHOS: Sandford Baynes Pembroke: Pinkey Dont think Woody South and Kilburn will feature.
TOP 3 Selections 1. Burrows 2. Coard 3. Steed
Burrows for a three-peat you reckon??? Doubt it... he missed a couple of games at the end of the season, and his form in the first few games wasnt crash hot (but neither was anyone elses) . I'd tip red dog McLean to poll more votes for us... Steed will feature as will Jolly...
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit
Just thought not too many would take votes off burrows and he does stand out. Districts and Ramblers players will take votes off each other. Coard is probably a stand out player in the competition.
Ill back Campaign too! But the two stand outs would have to be Sean Coard and Michael Gower. They will both attract umpire votes because one is captain courageous and the other is a hard nut all Australian player. Aaron Wanders may steal votes with a stellar year from the middle.
Districts playing two games within a month, one win within a month, struggling to run out the game last week due to lack of match fitness, to then play a GF on Thebby oval (a very big oval), Modbury and Seaton will be chomping at the bit to play them next week.

You've just had a break man, you're talking about Div 2 footy it's not like they've been training 5 days a week since mid October. Get real, at this level you have to be playing football and touching plenty of the ball and body.

Very good judge LL perhaps it will be a Rambler trifecta. Dont forget to put yourself in the mix too LL those blond locks are sure to attract the umpires votes.
