Three jobs, actually. We don't have a nickname for her though. Boy am I glad she isn't in today, I don't think I could handle her first day back after a long weekend.

You can both have her back, especially today, and our coffee machine was broken.

After applying for the Ingle Farm A grade coaching position back in August, and not hearing anything from them for 5 weeks, finally got a call yesterday afternoon from the footy director/chairman.

He had a "proposal/vision" that in his words he felt was "the next stepping stone towards being an A grade coach" (bearing in mind I've coached the B grade last 5yrs and been A grade assistant).. ok no worries, what's your proposal champ..

"I want you to coach the C grade, and train them on a different night to the main group with the U16 kids"

Someone please explain to me how this is a step closer to an A grade role??

Then I asked, well what about the current C grade coach, have you spoken to him - "He's probably going to coach the B grade"

Don't know whether to laugh or cry lol.

Sad part is I've actually given it some thought today even though I suspect the reasoning behind the idea is so they have a babysitter to take the very ordinary lower end C graders away so they don't have to deal with them, while also keeping most their top end playing group that would've quit or left with me.

2 steps back for no steps forward if you coach the ‘C’ grade.
Tell them thanks but no thanks and apply elsewhere.

It really depends on if you coach coz you like coaching and want to help or if you are coaching coz you love that particular club.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Mate, you've busted your arse for that joint for a while for very little, probably at a huge loss when you work out how much piss and food you consume there, have a year to dust yourself off, a few Saturday arvo's with the family and go to the games that you want to go to, whether it be the Power, Ingle Farm or Nunawading.

They're doing you a favour mate.

Pretty ordinary. I'd imagine they wouldn't have been inundated with applications?

That's a disgrace. Either apply somewhere else if you can or do what LM suggested enjoy a year off
