personally i didnt really think ironbanks win was very impressive. i reckon uraidla had more of the pill and probably more inside 50s up until the last qtr, was fairly even in the midfield and had uraidla been more accurate by foot it could have been a very different story. cant wait till next week lofty vs uraidla, lofty vs ironbank 4 best teams in the comp for there respective grades gonna be a good day of footy. Also did notice wood limping off with wat appeared to be an ankle injury late in the game does anyone know how he pulled up after the game?

Another great day of footy today.
Birdwood the under dogs in the under 14s got up by about a goal.
The big upset of the day was in the U17s where the highly fancied Hahndorf were knocked off by just over a goal by the Raiders in a rare finals match for them.
The B grade was a great game, Blackwood looked ontop until a couple of quicks goals looked to have Onkas home. But the Woodies fought back and kicked 2 quick goals to steal the game by 1 point, with Pat McKay I think it was slotting a set shot from infront of the clubrooms. The ball didnt even reach the centre before the siren blew, great game.
The A grade was Onkas in control all day, with Ironbank fighting back in the 3rd quarter, before being run over in the last term.

Todays games... A Grade Onkas 19 - 6 defeated IB 9 -12.
Shee and Norton too good up forward with 10 goals between them

Blackwood beat Onkas in the B Grade with the last kick of the game.

Bridgewater won the Under 17's.

Tex, I guess yesterdays result explains why Wayne Stringer did not take too many notes on your side recently.

Where do you think you lost it this week, the forwards, the backline or the midfield or were you undermanned again ?

Besides the 10 goals from Shee and Norton, Thompson chimed in with 5 as well.
Singles to Coffey, Penny, Sampson and Wescombe. All played well for Onkas but would expect Shee and Norton to figure prominently.

My best for IB were Howes, Exelby, Williams, Walter and Muirden.

Unfortunately IB's lack of talls told out in the long run. Shee and Norton had a day out and with Partridge suffering an illness during the game there was not a lot of other options besides Schnids. Nevertheless he has done a good job in the role ytd considering most weeks he comes up against a taller and much stronger opponent.

TV beat Kersbrook by about 3 goals in the A's... Roger James kicked 5 points in the 2nd quarter which should have nailed the game for the Blues if he had have been on target.....think the score was 3-13 to 3-7 at half time

Blackwood easily won the b's over what seemed to be a very big but slow Meadows

Was a fairly high standard game on Saturday at Callington between Meadows and Kangarilla.
Kangarilla full forward Matt Guitink got stretchered off in I think it was the second quarter with what appeared to be another knee injury for the lad. Hope that he's OK but it would seem he won't play again this season. Chad Dawe wasn't his usual self and the matchup of Trent Thorpe surprised me but it certainly worked. Know Dawe has a bout of OP earlier in the year and watching him, it still appears that he is not fully fit.

 Go you devils! Great stuff lads. I thought A grade was going to be a lot closer than that. Looking fwd to Blackwood going out in straight sets.
Well done to the 17's in what's a very tight finals race...actually, the B's looks tight too.
So this weekend in central we're looking at...
A - Lofty vs Uris...Blackwood vs Onkas
B - Lofty vs IB...Uris vs Blackwood???????
Anyone know when and where these will be played? I assume the A's and B's Lofty games are on Saturday?

1st Semi's on the Sunday at Heathfield.

well done lofty on a very convincing win against blackwood. The woodsmen were terrible and for what they are paying this year should be spewing. All those money boys arent worth a pinch of shit and should be made to pay the club for their performance. Carberry is a dead set dud Salivic tried hard but is crap and as for the others they dont even rate a mention. Well done benno money well spent on a team that is only making up the numbers.

Tanka - nah mate, didn't get there. I got the Lofty results updated by a Super B's player that went out.
Lofty were extremely innacurate in front of goals by the sounds.
The rest is what I've gathered from the reports on here.
Looking forward to heading out this weekend though. I reckon they could knock off the demons.

Interesting you would select mostly midfield players when that is where the thunderers were destroyed. I appreciate that barely winning a ruck tap all day makes it very difficult for them, but considering the run and possesions that the Onkas midfield were generating I'd suggest a few of those blokes didn't have a great day at all. Mind you, pretty hard to pick 5 best really. Height definitely the problem as you said.

Nice to see Trevor McDonald on saturday back umpiring Div 1 where he should be. Best umpire in the comp and we haven't seen him all year.

Agree Bookie. Saw the B grade game Saturday. Ironbank blew Uri's away in the 1st quarter to jump to a 4 goal to nothing lead. Uri's had all the play in the 2nd and 3rd quarters but just couldnt convert it on the scoreboard. At one stage the score was 5.1 to 1.11 before Ironbank blew them away in the last quarter. Ironbank's lack of fitness was exposed in the 2nd & 3rd quarters. Their lack of fitness will get exposed on a bigger oval by a better team this week. Lofty boys watch out for #69 from Ironbank. His name doesnt appear in the budget but i have watched 3 ironbank B grade games and the guy is a sniper. Have seen him belt players well off the ball several times on each occassion i have watched Ironbank play.
