I do agree, Ted. I would have been 100% in that theory about 6 weeks ago but Lofty, although still winning, haven't seemed to have gelled as well. But it would be tough to see anyone else bar those 2...funny game though, footy.
Tex - what'll it take to beat Kangarilla for you guys? They seemed to be really strong and consistent. Where are you gonna win it?

Okay okay so we are saying it's only fair for Birdwood to host a final, and that is the reason for the rotation system!

But, didn't they also have the junior carnival? How is that fair?

Why not give them the carnival, and leave the finals to be played at the best possible grounds?

Rotate the carnival at the grounds with lesser facilities and Finals at the better

Also Rooster is there anywhere in Birdwood you can have a bet now that the races will be back on Saturday arvo ?

to be honest i don't really know... i dont live in birdwood, just played footy for them for the last million years.

id have to agree that anything but a uraidla v lofty grandfinal would be a huge surprise. good luck to the other three though... please prove me wrong!

"All the way out to Birdwood"? Central Div teams only have to travel half way across the hills, not fully north or south like the Country teams.

And no, I've never had an affiliation with Birdwood, apart from trying to get a kick against them.

Agreed! Some of these precious Central Div Supporters don't know anything about traveling for a game of Footy. Try going from Kersbrook to Milang before having a cry. Waikerie and Renmark play each other at least 3 times a year. And agreed with previous post on the shape of Birdwood Oval, it's HILLS Football, get over it! I've played on a velodrome, run up hills at Mt.Lofty, Gumeracha, Blackwood and Ironbank, as well as swim at Bridgewater. If anyone wants to whinge about a Club's facilities or Oval, it would be to anyone who played on the Old Kersbrook Oval, as that was as bad as it got. To those that are having a cry about Birdwood's Oval, as the Great Chopper would say, 'Harden the F**k Up!'

wasnt it a Kersbrook supporter who was complaining about travelling to Kangarilla in the final siren on saturday? ;)

No Birdwood doesn't have a TAB :( They've tried but the town is too close to Mt. Pleasant and Lobethal so TAB won't put it in.

Yeah Birdwood did have the U8's & U10's carnival but lost the majority of profits when some tool stole 2 gas hot water services OFF the wall of the club house. Maybe that's why the HFL are giving them a final!

I went past the oval the other day and you'll be happy JQ, it's looking a treat!!

 Cheers, Gimp.
Again, it's not the surface, it's the...ah screw it...we're past it.
Two teams, a weird oval...they've both gotta win. The smell of September.
Anyone know where next weeks finals will be played out of interest?
I know it'd be decided, but I assume ALL surfaces would be pretty tip top with the lack of rain we've had.

I think we have an advantage up forward an our backline is capable of holding its own but as i said earlier they have beaten us in the midfield the last 2 times we have played but we have been a little undermanned, the last game we had no reids, levi had only one game under his belt and morry was off 1/2 way through the first quarter, all those players are now in good form. This is very much a 50/50 game a best for us but we havent lost a game since we played them last and we in reasonable form, should be a cracker on a good deck and two in form teams.

Magpie, it was a dig at YOU, the people who made that happen were not happy that THEIR work was directly copied and pasted by you. a lot of work was put into bringing the HFL site up to speed and they did not appreciate the results being pilfered. There is no future, Magpie, find your own scores and best players and type them in yourself.
Hopefully Mt Lofty get belted this week @ the velodrome because they haven't got a door on their changerooms (all their "secrets" will get out) and they have to shower together after the game. What a psychological advantage Blackwood will have. And let's not forget the huge drive that is going to take up most of the day to get there. Maybe the Blackwood boys could pick you up on the way, or perhaps your heads would take up too much room. Country footy, god forbid, we actually have to play IN THE COUNTRY!!!!!

wow away for a day and what a shite storm !!!! for mine we have to venture to both birdwood and blackwood on the weekend but who cares its finals footy who cares where and when just bring iton ...
tips 4 me
saturdays games b grade looking forward to this clash with uris not sure if they will have a few players we havent seen to much of with there a grade having the week off so all being good ironbank by 2 or 3 goals ...a grade will be interesting with blackwoods form so up and down beat uris one week then just beat hahny the next. we flogged hahny by near on 30 the week before so would think lofty to get the chocies by 5 to 6 goals
sunday onkas vs who ? be it blackwood or loby still see onks by 4 to 5 goals..the big one in the a grade will be a cracker we are in much better form than last time we met and hopefully everyone has come up from last week and we dont lose a couple during the game like last time ...ironbank by 2 goals ..
good luck to all playing on the weekend ya gotta love finals footy :D :D :D :D
p.s can someone from ironbank let me know ins and outs via p.m have been working tonight so wasnt at the club cheers boys 8) 8) 8) 8)

That was from our oldest and most senile supporter. He forgot that Meadows had to come up last year to Mt.Pleasant when we beat them in the knockout Semi, even though they were the higher ranked team. And he also didn't know the Hills League were looking at us playing on Gumeracha the following week.......can't complain this week, we're only a Nick Johns big hit for 6 away from Kersbrook.
