Fair go, Tanka...it is a forum. Heaven forbid we talk about something.
I was actually expressing an opinion as a bloke NOT lucky enough to be playing. I am a Lofty man and was keen to drive up the hill to see some finals, but f!#k it, now. I'll wait til Lofty play Uris next week. I wouldn't be the only supporter put off.
I actually thought that dangermouse (unbiased opinion) made a fair point - why don't hills teams get home finals? I hear this talk of parking availability, but as one great person said a little earlier: "that's counrty football"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tanka...there's a word that describes you that also perfectly rhymes with your name.
I went to most of Lofty's games this year, home and away, so don't suggest I'm a fair-weather supporter.
When you're coming from town, Birdwood is a fair trek.
Hail at Hahndy? So be it, Keith Martin. I'd be there. But to write off the best part of a whole day for one grade, with a fair chunk of it spent driving, sorry.
I'll still tip my boys though and reckon Onkas will beat IB.
In country I reckon Kangarilla and Kersbrook.

A lot of sooking going on about where finals are being played. Hope these are just supporters carrying on because you wouldn't want your players whinging like this. At the end of the day its footy, its played on grass, in different types of weather and on many different ovals (big or small). If it were my players having a sook I'd be worried because there heads are in the wrong place mentally. Time to move on.

Tex, interested to know what basis you are picking Meadows to win this week and also how do you compare your coach to W Stringer espicially when it comes to discipline. Do coaches in the Country Division drag a player if he gives away a 25/50 metre penalty during a game ?

Also Rooster is there anywhere in Birdwood you can have a bet now that the races will be back on Saturday arvo ?
For some backing a Melb Cup winner at 125/1 is a dream........for me its a fact !!!

I am not going to pick against us, but in saying that I believe we are good enough with our full team to beat them, they havent played us at full strength. Discipline at meadows shouldnt be any different to central clubs as our coach played 250 games at Hahndorf under Richard Hill (probably the most succesfull hills coach ever) he is very strong on stupid penalties.
I dont know what Wayne is like I understand he coaches through a fear factor but that is only what I have heard. Blakey isnt a ranter and raver he is controlled and encourages and is more of a teacher.

And "big or small" definitely isn't the issue with Birdwood, it's the lip at one end.
Anyhoo...obviously there won't be any in and outs posted tomorrow morning so...where are teams gonna win or lose it this weekend?
I reckon with Flo back, Lofty's engine room will be too quick, and they should keep it far and wide of wherever Gigney is, cos he can keep Blackwood in it from the backlines.

JQ i've just caught up with all your complaints and now i know you are only a " fair weather " supporter ( probably not even a member ) your opinion about the oval, surface etc. doesn't really count anymore. Maybe you should keep your comments to the canteen only - something that would affect your Saturday arvo's ( when you come up ).

Jeez Indian, you've fallen on hard times by the sounds of it. An arm or a leg for finals footy? Would that be before or after your played the finals?

I won't be giving anything up, since I'll be playing finals footy every year for atleast the next 5 years at Thunder Park. Be happy to put a wager on that too

You can pencil Uraidla in...and I reckon Lofty. They were a class above for a while, but Ironbank gave it a shake for 3 quarters on the weekend and the Doggies are up and down. And Blackwood would be almost good enough at their absolute best on their day, but probably still not quite good enough.
I can't go past Lofty v Uraidla on the big day.

I can't see it being anything other than a Uri v Lofty GF. Both sides are a class above any other side in the competition. For either side not to make the GF something would have to go horribly wrong. If either side gets beaten by sides that finished 3-5 it would be one of the biggest upsets in HFL History.
